(Mari's P.O.V)

We all went to our dorm that we were assigned, and I'll have to say, it is pretty cramped. There was four beds and a bathroom, not really much room for anything else. That's fine, I don't have much stuff anyways.

"Well, want to get settled in?" I asked. Nora almost immediately starts jumping on her bed.

"I love these beds! They're bouncy!" Nora said, very childishly.

"Nora, please get down from the beds." Ren said, facepalming at his friends actions.

"Ok Ren!" Nora said, flipping off the bed onto the floor.

"Alright everyone, want to pick our beds?" Pyrrha suggested.

"Sounds great!" I said. Nora obviously found the bed that she wanted, and Ren sat his stuff down on the bed closest to the door. Pyrrha chooses a bed closest to the window and Mari chooses the bed closest to the bathroom, which is nice, I can restore my gem energy in there. I was so tired. I saved two people from certain death and use my gem power plenty today. You may never see the Crystal Gems restore their gem energy after a hard mission, because it is done in the privacy of their rooms. Even though gems have unlimited energy, we still have to rest, or recharge.

"We should probably get to bed, we have classes tomorrow." Ren said, out of nowhere. Kind of scared me a bit.

Team APNR got into their night clothes and they went to sleep in their bed, still having their suitcases packed and at the end of their beds. Once I knew that they were fast asleep, I snuck out of my covers and I slip into the bathroom and lock the door behind me. I look in the mirror and see the messy blue hair and my very light blue skin. Man, I do look like a smurf.

I reach up to the cloth that was around my neck and undo the bow that was keeping it together, keeping my secret from the world. I slowly unwrap the cloth and show the gem that keeps me alive. My beautiful blue aquamarine gem. It shone without any light hitting it, and I sit down cross legged on the floor, and start to meditate. I started to float from the ground, and my gem started to glow. Streaks of blue light emanate and swirl around me, and I open my eyes, but my blue irises were not there, instead replaced by a white light. After a couple of minutes, I felt relaxed and stopped meditating, the blue light returning to my gem and my eyes returning to normal. I take a deep breath and reach for the cloth that is on the floor, and re-wrap it around my neck again. I made sure to wrap the bow just perfect and unlock the bathroom door. I go and sit on my bed and just stared at my teammates, peacefully sleeping. I didn't want to sleep, because I didn't have to and I literally just restored my energy, which feels like taking in a cup of coffee. I walk over to the door and slowly open it and step out. I step outside, only to walk right into Professor Ozpin.

"Oh! Professor Ozpin! I didn't see you there!" I stammer.

"You are up late." he said.

"Am I not supposed to?" I ask.

"Technically it is quiet hours. Why don't you come walk with me?"

"Uh, alright."

We walk together down the hall and into the courtyard.

"Why do you hide it?" he asks.

"What do you mean, sir?" I say, trying horribly to hide it. I mentioned to him I wasn't human, but that is really all he knows.

"You know what I mean, Mari. Why do you hide that you are a gem?" he said. I tense up.

"I.. Just... you are a very accepting human. There are people out there that do not understand that I am just like them in personality. Yes, I have different color skin than they do, but I still act human. Just with accelerated abilities."
