(A/N at the end)

Why am I even here? Tall, intimidating trees surrounded a tiny house in the midst of an island. Darkness was everywhere I turned. The only light sources were the faint rays of the quickly setting sun shining through the gaps in the menacing plant's leaves., high in the air. Complete and utter silence engulfed the area, only sometimes the quiet, soothing sound of running water would drift through the lifeless location from the nearby river. It was somehow calming. However, my nerves started to get the better of me, and my crippling fear of isolation took over. I shook where I stood, my knees trembling. I couldn't do this. Despite it being just a dark forest, the thought of anything lurking behind the thick oak wood terrified me.

'Get yourself together. It's just an ordinary forest. You've seen one before. No problem.'

The voice in my mind was trying to help me. Guide me. No matter how badly I wanted to hear those words, I couldn't believe them. Not for one second. Not in my current state, anyway. I knew this wasn't ordinary, a normal appearance you naturally see everyday. No. This was different.

'Just go. Nothing bad is going to happen.'

My thoughts were once again urging me to go, man up, and do my job. Reluctantly, I believed the words spinning in my head. Nothing can go wrong. It'll be fine.

I'll be fine.

Clutching my paper tightly in my shaking hand, I hesitantly approached the ancient, battered entrance. My arms reached out to push the delivery through the broken letterbox. Then, the seemingly impossible happened. My horrible nightmare became a reality.

The door flew open with a deafening bang. From what my dazed eyes could see, no one was there, making matters worse for me and my twisted imagination. Someone was there, though. I was sure of it. I could feel it. I could feel them. I could feel their presence. They were staring. Quietly. Watching my every move. In shock and complete fear, I dropped the paper to floor and did the one and only thing I could think of.

Run.

I ended up writing 355 words, but oh well. I just wanted to post this 'cause I'm pretty proud of it. It took me roughly 2 hours to write (damnit writer's block).

I hope you enjoyed!

Oh, and by the way, as you can see there are two sides to me. My weird side, as seen in previous parts, and the formal side, which is now. I've only just noticed that. XD

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed reading this. Feel free to leave constructive criticism in the comments. I love improving!

See ya in the next part!

(Also, if you want to write something like this, I recommend this piece if music:)

(Trust me, it works)
