The wailing of a baby isn't what anyone would want to wake up to in the middle of the night. Yuuri was used to it, of course, but he sometimes longed for a full night of uninterrupted sleep. That would be for the future though. Tonight was another bout of getting out of bed to see what the little bundle of joy needed.
After almost tripping on Makkachin, Yuuri found his way to the nursery. The baby's wailing loud and clear when he opened the door. It was almost deafening but he didn't care. He tiredly walked over to the baby. Making sure to smell in case of the inevitable. Not this time luckily.
Carefully, he picked up the wailing baby into his arms. The baby seemed to calm down enough that the crying wasn't deafening.
"You felt lonely, hm?" He smiled and sat down in the nearby rocking chair. "Well don't worry, I'll stay with you. It's not like I have a choice." Slowly, he started rocking.
Minutes ticked by and baby's cries eventually died down into calm breaths of sleep. He knew that he should probably go back to bed but exhaustion was winning over him. He was struggling to stay awake. Until eventually, he leaned back and close his eyes.
~(like an hour later)
The clear light of morning lit up the room. Specifically, Victor's face. It was annoying to him enough to wake him. He squinted and groaned. Immediately, he noticed the empty space next to him and sat up. Quickly, he slipped off the blanket, hopped out of bed, and walked to look for Yuuri.
He found himself at the nursery with Yuuri sleeping in the rocking chair, baby in his arms. Victor chuckled at the sight. Carefully, he took the baby out of Yuuri's arms and while Yuuri shifted Victor didn't dare to wake him up. He looked to the baby in his arms.
"You must be hungry." The smell suddenly hit him. "But first...I hope I make it this time."
~
"Yurio, I get that you're jealous of her but help me!" Victor was quite possibly in the worst situation. Baby food everywhere with continuous amounts being thrown around. Piercing cries sounding throughout the house.
"What am I supposed to do?" Even Yuri was panicking.
"I don't know! Amuse her!"
"How?"
"I don't know, figure it out! I have to go get Yuuri!"
"What's he gonna do?"
"Save the day." He outright dashed to the nursery. There he found Yuuri still deep asleep. "Yuuri!" Yuuri only groaned, shifting slightly. Victor took to a different approach. He grabbed Yuuri's shoulders and shook him. "Yuuri wake up!" Yuuri did eventually wake up and upon seeing Victor's panicked face, he was wide awake.
"What happened?"
"Nina, she won't calm down-I don't know what to do!" Immediately, Yuuri jumped up and dashed like an Olympic runner set for a gold medal. He found the mess in the kitchen along Yuri crying with Nina. Quickly (but carefully) he picked her up, her cries immediately dying down. He turned to a still crying Yuri.
"Yurio, calm down, it's okay. You want some ice cream?" Yuri nodded in response, his cries now dying down.
~
"I don't understand how you do it." Yuri said before shoving a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth.
"Honestly, neither do I." Yuuri sighed. "I'm just kind of figuring it out."
"What about Victor?" Both looked over at Victor waving a toy in front of Nina with the biggest smile on him. Yuuri couldn't help but smile.
"He has his own ways of figuring it out."
"You both disgust me."
"Liar." Yuuri looked back to him with a smirk. The blonde only responded with a small smile.
"Give me more ice cream."
"Now don't be rude Yurio."
"What?"
"I'll stop calling Yurio for the rest of the day if you say please.
"Fine then, please."
