"Is she awake!? Please tell me she's awake!!!!!!" Barry screamed, running into STAR labs. "Whoa, Speedy, calm down. She isn't awake, but scans seem to show that she is no longer in a coma, and just sleeping." "Okay, thank you Cisco." Barry walked over to Caitlin's bed, sat down and grabbed hold of her hand. This time he was certain that he would not leave her side until she woke up. Just hearing the sound of her breathing made Barry's mood light up significantly.
"Mr. Allen, may I have a moment of your time?"
"Not now Dr. Wells, I will not leave Caitlin's side. Later." Barry exclaimed. "This concerns her as well" "No, it can wait" Dr. Wells left the room, it seemed to Barry that there was something major on his mind, but it could wait, as nothing could make him leave her side. It had been too long without her, he wanted to be with her and talk to her again the moment he could.
Two hours had passed, Cisco had told Barry that he could leave multiple times, that he could handle her, but Barry wasn't moving until Caitlin was okay. Cisco had gone out to get lunch, and Dr. Wells wasn't in the building at the time. Barry was starting to get tired, but he told himself over and over that he would stay awake for her. Then, he heard it. Gradually Caitlin's breathing was accelerating, she was starting to wake up. Barry sprung to life, grabbed his phone and sent a message to Cisco, only containing the words "She is waking up". He watched as Caitlin slowly started to open her eyes. Her beautiful, brown eyes. Barry had completely forgotten how incredible she looked. "B..Barry??" "Caitlin!! Hey! How are you feeling??" Barry had never been happier in his entire life. He had gone three months without Caitlin, with the most recent memory of her being awake being her falling into a lake, screaming. Seeing her okay and awake made him smile kind of uncontrollably. "I'm okay. I'm.. okay" Caitlin sat up, and the first thing she did was look over at Barry, which instantly made her smile. After about a minute of being in a constant smile, she asked "What happened? Why am I in STAR labs?" "Don't worry about that for now, let's get you up." They both shared a big smile, and Barry grabbed Caitlin's arm and helped her out of the bed.
"Caitlin, your awake!" Cisco said, walking in with three Big Belly Burger meals. "Hey Cisco, how are you?". "Well if you exclude having my two best friends in comas lasting 6 and 9 months, and having Barry constantly sitting in the medical room refusing to care for himself, then yeah, I'm good", Cisco said jokingly. "What do you mean, Barry sitting in the medical room", Caitlin asked, kind of hoping that it was because of her. "Well, Mr Persistent here refused to leave your side after he woke up." This made Caitlin turn away, to hide her blush. She couldn't help but feel slightly bad, but she was blushing too much to realise right now. "Are you okay Cait?" Barry asked, being the worrying person that he is. "Yeah, of course I'm okay", Caitlin replied, wanting to say that Barry was the reason that she was feeling good, but she was way too nervous. Both of them hadn't stopped smiling this whole time. They were both sat next to each other, and Caitlin had a mug of hot chocolate that Barry had made her. They caught each others eyes, and couldn't help but not turn away. This was then interrupted by Dr. Wells coming in, greeting Caitlin and welcoming her back, and then asking Barry for a word. As Barry walked out of the cortex with Dr. Wells, Dr Wells mentioned that they should go outside to talk, so Barry went in the opposite direction to go and get his coat, which was in his car. As he walked out of STAR labs, he noticed alarms going off in the bank opposite. He ran over to find out what was going on, and it was a robbery, as expected. He saw the thief jump out of the smashed window, and start to run. "HEY!! Stop!" Barry shouted, running after the thief, who he thought was unarmed, until he pulled out a gun, pointed it at Barry and shot. Barry had closed his eyes, expecting to be hit. After about five seconds of standing still, waiting for it all to be over, he opened his eyes as nothing had happened. But, something had happened. The bullet had been fired, and it was inches from his face, but it was moving much slower than it should be. Everything was moving slower than it should be. He reached out and just grabbed the bullet. Just grabbed it and dropped it on the floor, as if it was no trouble at all. But everything was still moving incredibly slow, except for him. He looked around him, and panicked as to what was going on, he ran down a nearby alleyway.
Suddenly everything was back to normal. Normal speed, until he looked at his arm, which was completely blurred, practically vibrating.
Panicking, and traumatised yet relieved that he just avoided a bullet, he mumbled to himself.
"What's happening to me?"
