Harry's POV:
When I woke the morning after Malfoy and I had met in the classroom, my mind immediately went to thinking about him. I decided to try a little harder at getting my hair to stay flat this morning, but, as always, I failed.
First things first, I need to find Ginny.
I walked out of the dormitory alone, not waiting for the others to wake, and saw Ginny talking with Dean and Hermione in the common room.
I walked over to them. "Ginny," I said. "Could I have a word with you?"
Ginny nodded and excused herself from the conversation. She then followed me over to the other side of the room.
"What is it Harry?" She asked. I felt bad about this, but I just didn't like her like that anymore. Especially after last night. It was weird, I'll admit, but I won't complain.
"Look," I said, trying to be as gentle as I could, "I like you, I really do, but-"
"Harry," she interrupted. "I know you, and that sounds like your about to break up with me."
I stared at her for a minute, not knowing what to say.
"Am I wrong?" She asked.
I nodded. "I'm sorry Ginny, I just-"
"It's fine." She said, turning away slightly. " if you don't like me like that anymore, that's fine."
And with that, she left. Hermione tried asking why she was crying, but Ginny didn't stop.
Hermione then turned to me. "What did you do to her?" She asked.
"I broke up with her." I replied, then I explained in more detail, before she could think of a sufficient hex.
"So," she asked. "Why'd you do it?"
"I think I love someone else," I replied, "and I don't want to lead her on."
Hermione nodded. "You gonna tell me who this 'someone else' is?" She asked.
I shook my head. "Not yet."
"Alright, well, I think you should tell Ron about this before he finds out from someone else."
I stopped. "What am I gonna say?" I asked.
Hermione shrugged. "I'm not sure, but you should be gentle. Ginny is his sister after all."
I nodded, and planned on talking to Ron at breakfast, then walked out of the common room.
I didn't know where I was going or why, but I felt like I really needed to go for a walk. How was I going to explain my feelings to Ron? He'd kill me.~time skip - at breakfast~
I walked over to were Hermione and Ron were sitting. Ginny was missing from what I could see of the long table.
I took a deep breath, and walked up to Ron. "Ron," I said. "We need to talk."
"Okay." He said, and followed me out of the Great Hall.
Once outside, I turned to him, and explained what had happened between Ginny and I.
"I just thought you should hear it from me." I finished.
"Why?" He asked, his voice slowly raising a little. "Why'd you break up with her?"
"I think I love someone else, and I didn't want to lead her on."
"Lead her on!" Yelled Ron, "You've been 'leading her on' all bloody year!"
Ron came up and grabbed the front of my robes. He then drew back a fist, and I braced myself for the pain. But it never came.
I opened my eyes as Ron was roughly pushed away from me.
"I take it you broke up with Ginny?" Draco asked.
I nodded, and Ron stared at the two of us as though we'd each grown an extra head.
"What?!?" Ron shouted. "How did he know you broke up with Ginny before I did?!"
"Well-" I began, but I was interrupted by Hermione running out of the Great Hall.
"Ron don't hurt him!" She gasped, then saw Draco with Harry.
"Hermione!" Said Ron. "Harry told Malfoy about Ginny before me!"
"What?" She asked, looking very confused, then the realization hit her. "Ohh.." she said, looking between the two of us.
"What?" Ron asked, still clueless and angry. Hermione led him away, probably to explain it to him, leaving Draco and I alone.
"He didn't take the news too well did he?" Said Draco in his usual sarcastic drawl.
"No," I replied. "But who would?"Hermione's POV:
"Ron calm down!" I scolded him.
"Harry left my sister for Malfoy!" He hissed. "Yes," I replied. "But think about it, Harry hates Malfoy and loves Ginny. Or at least yesterday he did! I think-"
"Hermione!" Ron interrupted. "He left Ginny! How can you sit there and defend him?"
"I'm not defending him! I just think we should be a little more concerned-!"
Ron stomped away before I could finish my sentence, leaving me to think things over.
How could Harry have possibly developed feelings for someone he hates that quickly? Of course, there was always the possibility that he'd liked Draco for a while now and just kept it a secret. But, there was something about the way he acted this morning.
Neville said he'd stayed in the common room alone last night, so he could've taken a walk.
I sighed, deciding not to say anything to Harry until I had more proof.
I walked to the library before anyone could interrupt me, and looked through the looking isles for a book potions I'd read in my first year...Quiz time!
Q: Who repeatedly watched Hermione in the library in the fourth book?
