Chapter IX - The Unwelcoming Friend (Ghost from the Past)

ALYSSA'S POV

Sa araw ng Renewal of Vows nina Mr. Mrs. Garzo ay ininvite ko si Kief. At first ay tumanggi siya dahil nakakahiya daw, baka mapagkamalan daw siyang gate crusher dahil uninvited guest daw siya. Pero nung sinabi kong nagpaalam na ako sa celebrants at natuwa pa sila't pumayag ay pumayag na rin siya.

After the Renewal of Vows ay dumiretso na kami sa Reception Area. Ipinakilala ko na rin siya kina Amy at Synjin dahil sila na lang ang di ko pa nai-introduce kay Kief.

Alyssa: Kief this are my other friends, Synjin Reyes and Amy Ahomiro. Hindi sila nakasama sa amin the other night dahil napagod sa flight. Guys this is Kiefer, Von's bestfriend at ang may-ari nitong buong resort.

Kiefer: Hi Synjin, Amy. You can just call me Kief. My friends call me with that nickname.

Synjin: It's good to finally meet you Mr. Ravena but it's not nice. I'm sorry but i don't need to call you with your nickname because we just meet and we are not close, we are not even friends. Excuse me but i have to go and congratulate the celebrants which i think more worth to talk to.

KIEFER'S POV

Nagulat ako sa pagiging unwelcoming ng friend ni Ly sa'kin. Hindi ko in-expect to but hindi ko na lang dinibdib dahil jolly din naman ang isa which is si Amy na like Ella ay nakakatuwa.

Amy: Hi Kief, nice to meet you. Just don't mind Synjin, he maybe has his imaginary monthly period. By the way Kief, do you happen to have a girlfriend? If you don't, I'm available or you can just flirt with me. I'm also game for a one night stand. Just let me know because honestly you really looks so yummy.

Ella: Hoy Ahomiro umayos ka. Uunahan pa ako into, kung gusto mo pumila ka. Si Ly ang nasa unahan nang pila at kasunod ako which means panghuli ka, right Kief?

Kiefer: Hahahahaha.

Amy: Shut up De Jesus, he will not pick a shorty like you. He might mistakenly thought of you as a kid.

Alyssa: Tama na yan Amy at Ella baka mag-away pa kayo d'yan. Kief pagpasensyahan mo na silang dalawa ha, lalong-lalo na dun sa ginawa ni Synjin. Nagulat nga kami kung bakit ganon ang inasta niya eh. Hindi naman kasi siya ganon sa mga bagong kakilala. Synjin is a very friendly and approachable lady guy kaya hindi namin alam kung bakit ganon siya sayo.

Kiefer: It's okay Ly, nakakatuwa nga sina Amy at Ella eh. Pero sorry girls but I'm a changed person now but for the better ha. Kumbaga NAGMAHAL, NASAKTAN, NAG-BAGONG BUHAY. Yung kay Synjin naman eh baka di lang talaga ako gusto nung tao kaya okay lang. I know soon makakasundo ko rin siya.

Alyssa: Hayaan mo Kief at kakausapin ko yun mamaya, hindi ko rin gusto yung ginawa niya eh.

Laura: Wag na muna Ly, baka kayo pa ni Synjin ang magkainitan. Mukhang alam na rin namin ni Von kung bakit siya ganon.

KiefLy: Bakit?

Laura: Sabay na sabay ha? Compatible talaga kayo.

Alyssa: Hay Lau, ang dami mong pasakalye. Ikaw na nga mag-explain Von.

Kiefer: Oo nga paps bakit nga ba?

Von: Well paps sa ating lima nina Nico, Baser at Kevin. Tayo ang pinakasanggang-dikit kumbaga parang magkarugtong na ang mga bituka natin. Imagine, highschool pa lang magkaklase at mag-bestfriends na tayo. Yung tatlo college na natin naging bestfriends.

Kiefer: Paps can you go direct to the point? Baka mag-iyakan pa tayo eh.

Von: Okay as your bestfriend concern ako sayo lalo na sa mga kalokohan mo sa girls before. So i do my research. I did a background check on your exes. Di ba may two exes ka na magkamag-anak?

Kiefer: Oo. Sina Arie at Mika ay malayong magkamag-anak.

Von: Ano last name nila?

Kiefer: Reyes.

Von: Paps, Reyes din si Synjin di ba?

Alyssa: Wait! Wait! So are you saying na kamag-anak ni Synjin yung dalawang ex ni Kief?

Laura: Yups. Arie and Mika are not close to each other but both of them are close to Synjin.

Kiefer: Kaya pala parang galit sa akin si Synjin.

Von: Exactly paps. Kay Synjin umiyak sina Arie at Mika nung hiniwalayan mo.

Laura: Ly remember, dalawang beses may babaeng naghanap kay Synjin sa stall at nung makita siya ay umiyak sa kanya?

Alyssa: Oo at dalawang magkaibang babae yun. So mga ex pala ni Kief yun?

Kiefer: Well i guess i need to work hard to earn Synjin's trust. If only i could turn back time and correct my mistakes.

Alyssa: Don't worry Kief, I'll help you on that.

Kiefer: Wow. Thank you Ly, i really appreciate it.

Alyssa: Don't mention it. But for now come on, I'll introduce you to Mr. & Mrs. Garzo.

Hinila ko na si Kief papunta kina Mr. & Mrs. Garzo para ipakilala. Hinintay lang naming makalayo sa mag-asawa si Synjin bago kami lumapit.

Alyssa: Hi Mr. & Mrs. Garzo, congrats po.

Mr. & Mrs. Garzo: Thank you Ly.

Mr. Garzo: Oohhh you're with someone. Is he the additional guest that you're talking about?

Mrs. Garzo: Would you mind introducing us to this charming young man?

Alyssa: Okay, Mr. & Mrs. Garzo i would like you to meet Mr. Kiefer Ravena, a new friend and the owner of this resort. Kief, this is Mr. & Mrs. Laddie & Delia Garzo, the celebrant of this occasion.

Kiefer: It's nice to meet you Sir Laddie & Ma'am Delia. Congratulations on your Renewal of Vows.

Delia: Nice meeting you too hijo, we never thought that this resort's owner was this young.

Laddie: True and you're resort is awesome, the beach, the hotel, the restobar, the food, the drinks, the staff, everything. All i can say is, this is close to perfection.

Kiefer: Thank you sir, ma'am, it is my honor to serve such wonderful guests like you and thank you for letting me celebrate with you on your special day.

Delia: Well everybody's welcome to celebrate with us as long as we can still accommodate them. It's also our honor that the owner of this resort can join us.

Laddie: But we noticed something to the two of you.

KiefLy: What?

Delia: Do you like each other? Your eyes are both glowing everytime you look at each other.

Laddie: Well if ever we were right, you two should be honest with your feelings to each other and take action because you look great together.

ALYSSA'S POV

Napaisip ako sa sinabi nina Sir Laddie at Ma'am Delia. Gusto ko na nga ba si Kief? I think it's too early to confirm that. Kakakilala lang namin, we should get to know more of each other. But I'll be the biggest lier if i say na hindi ako kinikilig kay Kief, kasi kinikilig talaga ako sa kanya lalo na 'pag tinutukso kami sa isa't-isa. If something good will happen to us... we'll see. Basta Kief makes me happy.

The party went well and time flies so fast. Now, we're on our way back to Manila but before we leave the resort, Kief and i talked and i made him promise to text or call me as soon as he return to Manila.

Hindi naman halatang gusto ni Ly na magkaroon ng papel sa buhay ni Kief noh?
