Chapter two.

Captain James Hook.

Back in Neverland, he was eaten by a crocodile. Peter fought him for the last time. Hook had almost defeated Pan but Wendy's love saved him, and he was able to win. Hook was swallowed whole by the crocodile. That was the end of Captain Hook.
     Or so everyone thought.
Not long after the children had left on the Jolly Roger and returned home, Hook had escaped the beast's belly. Since he was swallowed whole, he didn't die instantly. While inside the beast, he used his hook to stab the heart of crocodile and kill it. Hook climbed back out through the mouth. He was free, and vengeful. He wanted nothing more than to kill Peter Pan. He swam to the shore and began searching for Peter Pan.
While on his search, he found Mr. Smee, his first mate on the Jolly Roger. All the other pirates had fled and hadn't been seen but Smee stayed. Smee told Captain Hook that the children had taken The Jolly Roger and returned home.
Peter Pan had in fact returned but felt very lonely. He missed Wendy. He wanted to return to her, but that would only hurt her more. He couldn't go back to hear her stories. She had to grow up without him.
Word had spread across never land that  Peter had returned. Also that Hook was still alive. Peter knew Hook would be vengeful so he stayed in hiding for awhile. He was too sad to fight. He missed Wendy and the Lost Boys. Mostly Wendy though. He would lose if he had another battle with Hook. He decided that leaving Neverland for while would be the best idea.
Tinkerbell was not happy with him leaving. She could come with him to another land, but could not stay. Fairies needed to be in never land to get the proper nutrition that fairies need. She tried to tell him he would most likely grow up before he could return. He would have to be a man. Peter was quite hesitant but still moved forward with the plan. He kept thinking to himself, maybe if he grows up, he could be with Wendy. He wanted to be the man she deserved.
Peter and Tinkerbell planned their departure very well, or else Captain Hook would have caught them. Once the coast was clear, they flew. He went to London. He went to see Wendy. He peeked in her window and saw her telling stories to her brothers and the Lost Boys that were no longer lost. He saw the joy on her face, it was a look she always got while telling stories.
He didn't say anything, he didn't do anything. He watched until the story was over and the children went to bed and he flew off. He walked the streets of London if his leafs and dirt. He got many dirty looks. He was not normal and it was very apparent to the people out that night. Tinkerbell stayed with him but hid in a hat that Peter had stolen so nobody would notice the fairy.
Peter had turned a corner and accidentally ran into a woman on the street. She was quite angry at first, but then she looked at the boy and her anger turned to concern. "Boy what's wrong? Why are you dressed so horrid?" The lady asked. Peter had to lie. He told her he lived on the streets and he was just looking for his friend. She felt so bad for the child. She asked him to come to her manor and clean up and have some food. Peter didn't want to take the offer but he felt it was a good idea.
Once at the lady's manor, she realized she didn't introduce herself. "I'm sorry child, I haven't even told you my name. My name is Elizabeth. Inside you'll meet my husband, Henry. Might I ask your name?"  Peter couldn't tell her his real name. He had to think quick. He spit out the first things that came to mind. Lawrence.
"My name is Lawrence," he told her. "Lawrence Jack." He thought it sounded crazy but she believed it so he went with it. They walked in the door and in to the commons room where Henry, Elizabeth's husband sat.
"Dear I found this lovely boy on the street. I brought him home to clean him up and feed him. Is that alright?" Elizabeth explains to Henry.
Henry eyed Peter up and down while thinking. "What's your name son?" Henry asked Peter.
Peter had to think for a moment. He had momentarily forgotten what he had told Elizabeth but before Peter could answer Elizabeth answered the question for Peter. "His name is Lawrence Jack," she answered.
"Welcome to our home, Lawrence," Henry welcomes him with open arms.

After cleaning up, getting new clothing and eating, Elizabeth talks to Henry. She wanted a son but couldn't bear one. Could she adopt this boy she found on the street? Henry agrees to the idea.
"Lawrence, Henry and I were talking and we were wondering if you'd like to stay in our home for a little while. Would you like that?" Elizabeth asked Peter. Peter really didn't know what to think or what to do. These people were really nice and he did need a place to sleep and eat. He thought long and hard and decided to except the offer.
"Would you be adopting me? Would you be my parents?" Peter asked.
"If you would let us, yes," Henry replied with a big smile on his face.
Peter was still skeptical about this, but wasn't upset about it either.
The next day they went to fill out the paper work to adopt Peter into the family. While filling out the paper work, they asked if he had a last name. Peter just shook his head no.
"Would you be comfortable taking our last name?" Elizabeth asked Peter. Peter just shrugged his shoulders and then nodded. "Lawrence Jack is your name then?"
Peter didn't like the name Lawrence though. He liked Peter but he was already lying about it. Jack didn't sound too bad though. "Yes, but could you both call me Jack? I prefer that," he asked.
     "Of course," Henry replied.
A lady working at the adoption centre looked at the paper work and looked at Peter. "So what's your name, son?" She asked.
Peter smiled. "My name is Jack Lloyd."
