Yes, curves. No, not a woman's curves. Curves, as in the curves of a coloring. In this chapter, you'll learn about the technique in picsart that is most closely associated with psd's in photoshop.
1. Open up your image in the 'edit' feature of Picsart.
(the blue circle thingy on the right is my file manager, ignore it haha)
2. Click tools, and then press 'curves'
3. When you get to curves, there will be a circle with blue, red, and green on it. Click on it. When you do, three more circles will slide down underneath it. The circle with all the colors is the knob to control your lighting with, and then the rest control the coloring. First off, the upper left half of the grid has a lighter lighting. The bottom right half makes it darker. I take the first knob (all colors, aka lighting) and slide it up so that it becomes slightly lighter. However, the shadows increase, but it looks pretty okay to me.
Tips
- If you press again, anther knob will appear. This way, you can maneuver it more ways. However, if you made it on accident, then simply place it at the middle line, as that is where it's set at '0', or does nothing. Or, where you see the trash can icon, press that and the knob you have currently clicked on is the knob that will ''throw itself'' into the trash
4. I move on to the red and green options. I keep my red knob at the center, as it's already pretty red and I don't want it more (or less!) For green, I'm just going to show you how it looks on the bottom right half and upper left half.
If you move the knob up to the upper left half a lot, the image will start to gain a greenish hue.
If you slide it into the bottom right half, it will gain a purple like coloring.
I didn't feel the need for green, so I simply left it at the middle.5. I'm going to move on to blue now. Blue makes things whiter, or bluer. Take your pick. I wanted my image whiter, as the background of it is slightly yellowish. Therefore, I moved up the knob into the upper left hand corner, keeping it close to the line so that it doesn't become too powerful, but still experiences the effects.
Now, I'm done. I put the two images side-by-side to compare..and that's how it looks. In my opinion, the image with the curve scheme looks a whole lot better than the one without. Now, add a PAD or diy lighting, and it'll look stunning! (remember. No heavy lighting textures.)
Please tell me if this was too confusing, or of it helped. I'd love to hear your opinions! Oh, and feel free to request a tutorial!
