xvii: MANIPULATION prelude + voting

This chapter is like a prelude to the next few chapters-

What's a manipulation?
(psst I'm not talking about manip-style covers right now, wink wonk ;))

A manipulation is when you manipulate things, to make a different scene, thing, etc. that looks realistic and like it was already like that before. (I'm horrible at explaining, sorry)

Some of my manipulation examples that I'll be showing you all how to make similarly (they're really good for using picsart, but I'm sure I'll improve so as the book progresses, I may or may not publish another chapter outlining newer manipulation tips)

THE BELOW ARE ALL MANIPULATIONS MADE BY ME ON PICSART MOBILE.

First three will be purely manipulations, and then the ones after that will be manipulation book covers

FALLEN ANGEL.

The girl was manipulated onto the forest, and the wings on her back are manipulated. The pillars of light that shoot out in front of her are also manipulated.

This was my first manipulation, so don't judge aha

LIGHT OF THE WATER.

the quality of this is terrible. I personally don't like this manipulation, it looks fake to me. But anyways...

The girl is manipulated into the water, the water coming out of her hand (looks so fake ah I'm sorry) is manipulated, the splash of water coming out of the water is manipulated, and the water on the girl's waist is manipulated (that bit looks so fake I just can't) but other than that, I like the coloring I made for this!

SNOW QUEEN

this is my most recent manipulation! (yes. I've only made three so far..) I honestly like this one the best. I like it a lot.. ;) The queen is manipulated onto the scene, the flash coming from her hands is manipulated the snow is manipulated, and the fog is manipulated. The overlay border is also manipulated, though you can't see it that well. Curve scheme and PAD are mine.

I absolutely love this. The girl was manipulated onto the scene, the fog is manipulated, the gates behind her are manipulated, all the smoke is manipulated, and the moon is manipulated ;) I'm so proud of the coloring of this one.

COVER CONTESTS cover

This was another book cover I made for qvgraphics .

Please ignore how the moon is in front of the trees. That was a rookie mistake of mine *cringe*

The girl is manipulated onto there, the flames were manipulated, the moon (obviously *chokes*) was manipulated, and the smoke.

BANG BANG DEAD cover

This manipulation, is pretty okay. At first look.. it looks horrible. I get it. But look closely at the faces-

ayee! It's Lucky and Emily. They've never posed like that before, or worn those clothes.. so how come they're like that?

Okay, okay. So I did a bad job on manipulating their faces onto the stock model's body, because it looks pretty ew. Lucky's face is a different shade than his body, which is yikes. Emily.. I don't see any problems other than that her face looks like it's being twisted in a different direction. And the blending on her feet is so ick I can't stand it. But hey, it was my first try at one of these manipulations and I'll be sure to improve!

So the faces are manipulated... and that's it.

So, to conclude, I'd love if you all told me which manipulation (or type!) you'd like for me to do a tutorial on. (To be honest; I'll probably touch on all of them in time) I'm already going to do a snow queen tut in the next few chapters so keep an eye out for that!
