I was leaning on a wall, keeping look out as Eighteen broke into a car, and hot wired it. Once he was done, he waved to me, signalling me to get in. I nodded then pushed myself away from the wall, walking nonchalantly over to the car, and getting in the passengers side. Somehow and someway this came naturally to me, keeping watch, acting calm, and not even feeling bad for aiding in breaking into a car. It was a very nice car; yellow with black racing stripes. I'm sure whoever's car this was, they had plenty more cars. I looked over to Eighteen, he looked at me at the same time. Our eyes met, and it didn't feel like either of us could pull away, he smiled at me, then after a few seconds, buckled himself, and looked forward. I sighed softly, then followed his lead, buckling myself and looking towards the road. Ever since we left my house a few hours ago, nothing bad or crazy had happened. I felt safe with Eighteen -I didn't know why yet, but I would eventually.-
Eighteen pressed on the gas pedal, and sped out of the parking lot, pulling into the road and going forward. He sure wasn't wasting any time, maybe where ever we were going was close, and he just wanted to get there. Or maybe we were on the run, which was the most likely option since I had just fought a bunch of guys throwing energy balls. I didn't know who or what these guys were, but one thing I did know they wanted was the the ring and I. It was the only logical explanation since I was apparently a Legend. I remember them though, white eyes, black suits, black sunglasses, and long legs. I thought to myself for a bit, thinking about asking Eighteen about them, he obviously knew alot more than he was telling me, and I was going to figure it out. I looked over at him "Eighteen? I have a question." I said, waiting for a response. Every time he spoke, it took him a while to actually think about what he was going to say, without giving too much away. He looked at me for a quick second, then turned back to the road "Yes?" It was time for answers.
"First of All. Who were those guys? What were those guys? And why are the after me?" I asked rapidly, still looking at him. "Long story short, they're demons, sent by either Satan, or his son. They're after you because you're powerful, you have the ring, and you're the princess of a highly technologically advanced society. There's your answers." He pulled a square device out of his pocket, and pressed a button on it. Anytime we got close to a road camera, they exploded into sparks. We never got a red light either, so I assumed that's what the device did. I thought to myself for a few seconds, then spoke again. "Next question. How do you play into this?" After I asked, he pulled over to the side of the road, parked the car, and looked at me. "I'm your protector. Where we come from, we have an army, that's been trained since they were able to walk. I'm apart of a secret branch of that army, one designed to protect the Princess. I'm the Highest ranking solider. I've been trained in most fighting styles, swords, guns, any weapon you can name. I'm trained in it." He studied my face for a few seconds, then stopped. "Happy now?" After saying that, he put the car back in drive, and drove off the side of the road.
I stayed quiet for awhile, thinking about all this new information that I had just received. A technologically advanced hidden away society that has an army, and a branch of that army dedicated to me. Well, apparently me, I couldn't bring myself to really believe I was a Princess. Maybe I am a Princess, maybe I am important, and maybe I'm meant to do great things. Was this destiny again? The same destiny that killed my brother and bonded the ring to my finger? For once maybe destiny is going to be on my side, and let me be something great. I figured the journey ahead would be tough, challenging, and crazy, I just hope it will make me into the girl I'm destined to be. The girl everyone in that society is hoping for me to be. The girl the demons want to kill because she's too powerful, because she has the ring. I'm going to give this journey my all, I'm going to come out stronger, braver, and smarter, and no one is going to stop me. Even the demons, they're not going to stop me.
It's been at least four hours we've been driving now, and I was getting pretty stiff, and felt like moving. I looked at Eighteen "Can we please stop somewhere? I need to stretch my legs." He sighed, pulling a phone out of his pocket. He handed me the phone "Search for hotels near us." He said, then shifting his attention back to the road. I unlocked the phone, doing what he told me to do, i've never had a phone before, but I knew how to use them. I pulled up a map to a nearby hotel, then set the phone down, letting the map guide Eighteen there. The map said that It'd take about thirty minutes to get to the hotel, but I doubted it would take that long, since Eighteen liked to speed. He obviously has a lead foot, and was antsy to get back to the society. I was okay with his speeding, he seemed like a good enough driver to where he wouldn't get us to an accident, or accidentally swerve into another car. For the rest of the trip to the hotel, I just stared out my window. I was thinking about everything that was going to happen. Mostly what was going to happen when we actually got to the society. I really hoped that I wouldn't have to wear a dress, and makeup, and look all fancy, because that's not me.
