Act normal. Act normal. Act normal. Normal..

Alice had no idea what normal was anymore. Normal was before she came out- indirectly and unintentionally came out, but nevertheless still came out- of the closet to practically the entire school. Before the homophobes started glaring at her with contempt and distain. Before she had to protect herself and be wary of disgust filled eyes that wouldn't hesitate to rid the world of another "sinner".

Before Amelia started being like those people too.

Alice tried not to set her mind on these thoughts and worries. She really did. But with a mind that was so quick to come up with such savage, snarky remarks.... It was just as hard to not to be so quick to revert all of her thoughts back to those agonizing memories.

Stupid stupid stupid....

Alice decided to skip the annoying harassment of the obnoxiously cliche gang of female hoes that were waiting to jump her or some action of the sort for today. A good enough amount of those same days had trudged by that she, a person with good common sense, could realize that perhaps going through that shady shortcut through her neighbor's forest was no longer such a good idea, seeing as Amelia wasn't there with her anymore. It's not that Amelia was tough or anything.... Well, that may have been a bit of a lie. Amelia was very loud and tended to scare of people that thought they could jump us randomly, and loved to call herself a heroine in a story who could save people from monsters and what not. That was one of the more popular make believe games that the two had played as children.

Ha. Some heroine you've been, Amelia.

Alice instead decided to go on a different route today. She wanted to make a quick stop today as well, and this route was perfect just for that, despite it being approximately 10 minutes longer than the amount of time it usually took to go from the place where the bus dropped her off to her house.

Knock knock.

She saw shuffling in the window curtains.

.....

Knock knock.

Should I ring the bell...? But I already know someone's in there.... And they hate their bell being rung...

......

.....

...

Ding do-

The door might've had the potential to start a small tornado from the amount of harshness that it swung open with. Alice was used to this, though, and held her feet firm on the ground.

"Greetings, Mr. Jones." She smiled. She managed to get a glimpse of the house that she and Amelia had played in as children so many times. There were so many boxes in there today. The Jones frequently bought stuff online, so it wasn't uncommon to see boxes there. Memories...

The burly man and his intimidating expression honestly made her wish her height was equal to a bed bug right then."What do you think you're doing in our perimeters?"

Slight intimidation mixed in with some confusion and slight offense caused by this rudeness. "Ah, I'm sorry. If you're not having a good day, I'll come back another time then." She expected him to say something along the lines of "Ok, thanks sweetie. Goodbye, then." so that she could respond with the average response of "Goodbye. See you tomorrow" and leave. But alas, the amount of luck she had wouldn't allow her to have such a pleasant exit from this awkward situation. Instead, he grabbed her by the collar.

"Listen,"Eyes wide, she wanted to scream,"Bloody hell what the hell gave you the inkling that what you're doing is acceptable because I honestly feel like if someone videotaped this and sent it to the police it could be called near harrassment with the inappropriate amount of distance between our faces and just about where you're grabbing me because I didn't exactly choose a high neck top today!!! "I've heard that you've got a crush on my child. Is that true? Well, it doesn't matter what you say because faggots aren't really normal and, according to my religion, don't deserve human rights because you guys are a sin against God."

What. The. Actual. Fuck. Were Amelia's parents always this obnoxiously religious and rude? No? Just her father?

"E-eh, is that rhetorical, or was I supposed to answer that? Because if I don't get a say either way, I might as well snatch my leave now." Ew. Voice stutters and trembles. Alice hated when those things happened, especially simultaneously.

"Talking back?" The asshole let go of my shirt collar and I, with all of what I like to call my gracefulness, nearly stumbled down the stairs of their porch. "Don't go near my daughter or I'll take you to court for your homosexual activity and for stalking and pursuing my child, god awful sinning lesbian."

Can you do that??

Alice really, really wanted to punch his testicles of of his dong, but she supposed then he'd actually have a legit reason to bring her to court, so she calmed her hands and nodded before slowly backing away from that god awful sinning homophobe and thought of revenge schemes on her 10 minute way home.
