I know. I'm pathetic. Just watching her leave like that after being screamed at by my dad.

Amelia moved her face from the curtains hopped off of the couch before her father realized that she'd seen the whole ordeal. She really did feel sorry...

"Ah.. ah... ah..."

Alice breathed in. Out. In. Out.

"The doorknob is two feet away from you, Alice. Not right here..." If a neighbor saw me like this, I think I'd rather die.

Not in a literal sense, but something of the sort.

In. Out. In. Out.  Oh the keys are in. Open the door we go.

Alice opened the doors and fell onto the ground in relief. That piece of wood of a door would never be able to feel how grateful she was that it'd opened just before her limit. She'd almost had a panic attack on the way home. Thank god. Wait no actually thank Satan, since apparently God hates me.

...

Ok. I think I"m better now. Now to close the god damn door

Alice sat on her couch and waited for her mother to come home. Her dad would probably come home really late, so there was no use setting the table for him. She wanted to talk with her mother about what'd happened and try to sort her feelings out. Her mother always gave great advice. Both of her parents were very accepting of her when she came out. She couldn't understand how, them being Christians and all, but she supposed they were probably blessings or miracles sent from Heaven or something.

I'll make fish and chips today. Simple enough.

Nope. Ash was all that was made for dinner. Ahahahahahahahaha I fucked up my chips like I fucked up my life. Oh bother.

The door slowly opened and her mother came in. "Mum! I made dinner!"

"Hello sweetie. And thank you. We can save that for tomorrow's dinner though. I brought home hamburgers from work."

"That stuff is so fattening and unhealthy!!"

"Let's be honest, sweetie. I think we'd rather be fat and unhealthy that poisoned."

"... Yes, I suppose you're right."

They laughed a bit and sat down at the dinner table.

"So mother...."

"Ah, 'mother'. What happened?"

Alice smiled. She was so grateful to have this wonderful and understanding women as her mother. "Well, you know my sexuality?"

"Mhm."

".... You know that socializing event a couple days ago?"

"Get drunk?"

"Not only that.... I.. I didn't do anything illegal- well, besides drinking- but I..."

Alice's mother waited.

"The whole school knows that I'm into girls."

Her mother's jaw dropped slightly. Alice flinched.

"I'm sorry."

Her mother came over and hugged her daughter. Alice buried her face into her mother and hugged her back as her mother patted her head.

"I know that you don't care all that much on what others besides your friends think of you. Who's acting different towards you now?"

"... Mum, it's Amelia."

"Oh, sweetie... I'm sorry."

"And I went over to her house today and her father yelled at me. I felt horrid, but I didn't want to let him know. I nearly had a panic attack on the way home. She's ignoring me and avoiding me and I keep chasing her her but she won't give in. I feel lonely and isolated and alone." Alice looked up. "What should I do, mom?"

"Perhaps if you keep chasing her, you'll eventually back her into a corner and she'll be forced to talk to you right? I kinda wanna go over to her parent's house and scream at them... But I don't think you'd appreciate that in the slightest, now would you?"

Alice laughed. "No, I suppose now that I think about it, I wouldn't. I really wanted to punch his balls right then, though. Also mum that's somewhat crappy advice, but I'll try it."

Her mom gasped in offense and gave her a light slap on the head before ruffling Alice's hair. "You know that I'm no good at offering advice. If I was, I'd've advised myself in the past to force your father to wear a condom that one time. But look where that mistake led us, and look what we have: a fine, grown young lesbian."

"Thanks mom. I have no idea how to take that, but thanks." Alice felt so much better than before. "Really, I'm so grateful to have you as my mother." Alice kissed her mother on the cheek before putting away her dish and grabbing a sponge.
