                                                                                                            Chapter 16 | Gangster Boo

The lights in the hospital lobby flickered off and on. Tears rushed down the eyes of Kingston's family. Today was the last day of the family reunion and it was also the most distraught day that they've had in years. Through all the arguing and fighting, it was a long time since each and everyone of his cousins actually gave one another a hug and a kiss just to let the other person know how much they loved one another.

Kingston sat in the lobby with his hands clasped together praying to God that the woman he loved would be alright. No one spoke to him since he recovered from his injury. The scar on his neck will always remind him of that treacherous day.

Every now and again it burned, ached, and caused him to act out, but there was nothing he could do about it. He tried to cry, but the tears wouldn't fall. He hit walls, but the hole would only remind him of the hole in her heart from the bullet that caused her to fall into a coma. It was like Montel's death all over again and he was going to let her leave him. He refused to.

Then again that wasn't going to be his choice, so here he was sitting calmly just asking for her to stay alive. He even asked for God to take away his life just so she could stay. He was sacrificing his life for hers. He sacrificing for both of their lives.

His blood pressure raised and his heart pounded hardly against his chest as if it was about to jump out. He had that feeling that told him that something was wrong, but he stayed put trying to catch his breathe. The last thing he saw before his eyes shut closed were doctors and nurses running past him.

Two hours and thirty-six seconds later, Kingston woke up in a hospital bed connected to a bunch of cords. He didn't know what had happened and why he was there. When his eyes fully opened Marie was sitting next to him. He slightly jumped.

"Did you miss me?" She asked him.

"What the fuck wrong with you? I told yo ass I ain't want to see you no more, so why the fuck you here. How you even get in Miami?"

"Don't worry about that. Just know that I have a new man."

"I don't give a fuck what you got. Me and you was never together. Now get yo' goof ass out."

"Stop fucking playing with me Kingston. If that stupid ass bitch ain't meet you at that restaurant, you would have been there for me. I would have been your one and only. I did everything for you. Why don't you love me?"

"What the actual fuck? You a psycho ass bitch."

"Just tell me you love me."

"I ain't telling you shit like that. I'm in a committed ass relationship with somebody I actually love."

"You're in love with a dead ass bitch."

He jumped out of bed and placed his strong hand around her neck, "Marie, I will fucking kill you if you say that goofy ass shit again."

"I don't care if you kill me, at least you're next to me."

He shook his head and let her go, "I don't know what the fuck yo' problem is, but this ain't no damn fatal attraction shit."

"The problem is I love you, and you don't love me back."

"How the hell you gone love me if we was never together?"

"Love is natural. We don't need to be in a relationship for you to love me. Why don't you love me."

"Cause you a crazy psycho bitch that's only good for drinking watermelon. Aight, get yo' goof ass out my damn room and take yo thot ass back to Atlanta and go live yo' fucking life."

"I don't need you, but it's gone be a cold day in hell when you need me, and trust me baby that day gone come soon."

She grabbed her purse and left out.

"Damn, who was shawty?" JJ asked.

"Don't fuck with that bitch, mane. She crazy as hell." He rubbed his face and sat down on the bed, "What happened to me?"

"You had an axiety attack."

He nodded his head and looked down at the floor. "Mama Jones died. The doctor's said she ain't make it."

"Mane, I ain't even get to spend that much time with my mama."

"I know how you feel, bruh. It wasn't yo fault though. She was just at the wrong place at the wrong time."

"I ain't even get to tell her how I felt. I'm mad as hell cause I should've been the bigger man and I should've been apologized for that petty ass fight we had." Tears flushed Kingston's eyes, "Why all the good ass people got to go? Why he ain't take me? He should've took me."

JJ pulled his cousin into a brotherly hug and cried with him for thirty minutes straight. "What about Francesca? She good, right?"

"Yeah, she made it through, but she a lil shooken up."

"What you mean?"

"She ready to step out this lil gangster shit. She said she need to go home and think this shit through."

"The doctors letting us see her?"

"Yeah, you wanna go down there and holla' at her real quick."

"Yeah, and tell them doctors to cremate my mama. Everybody don't see her like that. They ain't ready."

JJ nodded and walked Kingston to room 305 where Francesca was laid in bed watching T.V with Ty'Shana.

"I'm bout to go get me some Cheetos, you want some?" Ty'Shana asked her.

"Nah, can you bring me a bottle a water back."

"Yeah, I got you." She got up and whispered into Kingston's ear, "Don't say shit you gone regret later."

He smiled when he walked towards Francesca. She looked at him and then back at the T.V.

"I know you mad." He started.

"I'm not mad, Kingston, I'm furious."

He was silent for a moment, "You knew what you was getting into before you even stepped into this relationship. So, what you want to do now, breakup?"

"No, I love you too much."

That warmed his heart, "So, don't bail out on me, Francesca. I need you." He cried and walked towards her. She wrapped her bruised arms around his strong body and just held him.

"I'm not gone ever bail out on you, but I need to be with my family for a lil while. I can't keep burning the candle on both ends. I'm gone always make time for you, but after what happened, I just need to get back to what's real ; my reality. I need to make a future for both of us."

He nodded in agreement, "So, when we gone make my seed?"

She giggled and slapped his arm, "Soon, but I need to find out who working with Montana."

He nodded, "I'm gone always love you. You know that right?"

"I know. I love you too."

"Forever and always." They said in unison.
