                                                                                                              Chapter 20 | Gangster Boo

A thick glob of snot trickled down Francesca's nose as she laid in bed sick. She finally understood why you shouldn't wash your hair and then proceed outside. Her chest heaved up and down. Her sweet soft voice was now lower and raspy. Her skin was a shade lighter and she was constantly wheezing.

Kingston stepped into her room with a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup, club crackers, and a bottle of ice cold water. She missed her baby, and when he received the call about her being sick, he cancelled all his plans to come take care of her.

He placed the green tray in front of her before he sat at the end of the bed. Slowly, he slipped her socks off her feet and began to rub them. Why was he so perfect? He was everything she's ever wanted. Smart, funny, protective, and somewhat sensitive.

"I'm glad you're here with me. I missed you so much and I know you been busy, but I just had to see you." She spoke as she cooled down the hot soup that sat upon her golden spoon.

"Baby, you know I would do anything for you. Why you playing games, ma? You know that if you need me, no matter where I'm at, I'm gone come and take care of you." He looked up at her, "You know that right?"

She couldn't help but blush, "Yeah, I know, Kingston."

"Then act like you know me."

"What you got planned for the week?"

"I'm suppose to be making moves with Montez and the guys, but I'm cool with taking care of you."

"NO !" She shouted, "I mean, you don't have to stay here all night. I can be your day job and then you can hit the streets and do your night job. Besides you all about the low tickets, numbers, and the calculators."

"Francesca, you're not a job to me. You my future, aight. Remember that shit. A job is a position that you can quit any time. If anything, you my career cause that's something you achieve and honor. I honor you, baby." He moved the tray out of the way and climbed on top of her, "You're the future mother of my unborn child." He placed a kiss on her forehead, "You're my bestfriend." He kissed her nose, "And you're my future wife."

Their lips locked and he didn't care about getting sick. To him they were going to be together through 'sickness and in health.' She grabbed his face, so that she could take his lips in more, but knocks on her front door killed the whole vibe.

"Damn man. Who that is?" He looked down at her.

"It's probably my sister, Solange, and my cousin, Seniqua coming to check up on me. And, Kingston, please try to be nice cause you know how you get around new people."

He rolled his eyes and pouted after flopping down on the bed. "Sissy, you in here?" Solange stepped into the neat room and smiled once she locked eyes with her baby sister. The heart to heart that they shared weeks ago made all the pain go away. Although, Taylor is still out in the streets tricking she found a way to forgive Francesca for taking her mother away mentally.

"I'm here." She gave her a warm smile.

"How you feeling?"

""I'm doing better now that my baby is here. Solange this is my man, Kingston. Kingston, this is my lovely sister, Solange."

"What's good, Solange?" He nodded and gave her a hug.

She pushed him off a little while fanning herself, "Honey, please move back before you make me wetter than Aquafina."
