Chapter 23

I walked into mine and Harry's room as quietly as I could and started getting dressed. Two minutes later there was a knock on the door and Tom, the owner, came in to wake us up. 

When we were almost ready Ron came barging in and George and Fred after him, congratulating him on making Percy angry again. 

When we were already, we went downstairs with our trunks and Harry with Hedwig's bird cage. There the rest of the Weasley family and Hermione were waiting for us, we talked for a while and then Mr. Weasley said that the cars had arrived to take us to the train station. They were two and I went with Harry, Ron, Hermione and Percy while the others went in the other car. 

When we got to the station, we got to the platform rather quickly and when we got there Mr. Weasley asked Harry to talk to him privately. Mrs Weasley told us to hurry and get on the train or we might miss it and Harry got on just in time. 

When we couldn't see the station anymore and I started walking with the trio and Ginny to find a compartment,  George stopped me and asked me and asked me to go with the twins instead. 

We got to a compartment where a few of their friends were already in. When we sat down, George introduced me to them and then we started talking about our summer, what everyone did and also what we hoped would happen this year at Hogwarts. 

We laughed a lot and had fun, at one time I got really tired and fell asleep on George's shoulder but I startled awake because of a nightmare not twenty minutes later, he was the only one who noticed and he could see I was a bit shaken so he took my hand and didn't let go.

George had just told me that it wouldn't be long until we got to Hogwarts when the train started to slow down and the lights went out and it also got significantly colder.

I knew I had to go and find Harry and I stood up to go but before I could go and look for him, the door opened and a creature came inside. It was a dark figure, wearing all black and I couldn't see their face. 

It had gotten way more cold and I felt a really unhappy, like I had no happiness in me. The creature looked as if they were looking for something or someone. When they looked at me I felt dizzy, the last thing I remember was hitting the floor and someone calling my name.

When I woke up, the lights were back on and we had started moving again. George helped me up and a man who I felt I recognized asked if I was alright and when I said yes he handed me chocolate, told me it would make me feel better and then he left.

George looked rather worried but I told him I felt fine, just a bit shaken.

They told me that the creature was a dementor and that it was looking for Sirius Black, then we had to get ready to arrive at Hogwarts so we didn't talk about it for the rest of the ride.

When we got to the castle I found Harry and hugged him and started to tell him what had happened but he told me that we would talk about it better when  we had gotten to the common room tonight.

Before we got to the Great Hall professor McGonagall asked me, Harry and Hermione to come to her office, there was something she wanted to talk to us about. At her office she asked if Harry and I were okay, she had heard about what had happened on the train, and madam Pomfrey came to check on us. After we got the all clear, professor McGonagall told us to wait outside while she talked to Hermione.

When we got back to the Great Hall everyone looked at us while we were walking to our table. 

We had missed the sorting but as soon as we had sat down professor Dumbledore stood up and held his yearly speech where he told us about the rules and the new DATA professor, Remus Lupin, the man who was on the train. Dumbledore also told us that the professor who used to teach Care of Magical Creature had retired  and that Hagrid was going to take his place. The Gryffindor table cheered the loudest, especially Harry, me, Hermione and the Weasleys.

When everything was quit again Dumbledore told us about the dementors and that they were going to be around the school and that no one was to leave the school without permission.

He ended his speech and said "let the feast begin".

We ate and had fun and told some jokes. When the feast was over, Dumbledore stood back up and told us it was time for us all to go to bed. 

The trio and I went up to Hagrid and congratulated him on his new position. We could not talk for long, professor McGonagall shooed us away so we hurried to the group of Gryffindors who were going to our common room. 

When we got into the common room we were going to go to our rooms but Harry stopped me and told me that we needed to talk.

We sat down on one of the sofas and talked about the train ride, he told me that a dementor had also attacked him and that professor Lupin drove it away. 

I asked him why Mr. Weasley wanted to talk to him about and he said that he wanted to warn him about Black and he made him promise not to go looking for him. 

Soon after that we said good night to each other and went upstairs.
