Chapter 7 - The project

  We both.... Well I read the rubric carefully making sure we would do what we needed to do to get a passing grade. He mostly just played around with his pencil and doodled on his paper. The project was to make solar energy panel out of trash. At first I was a little confused but then I reread it. "Are you gonna help me or just sit there?" I asked politely. I could feel a small frown plastered across my face. "Yea sorry dude....What do you want me to do?"

"Come" I gestured him to me. He scooted towards me and we were shoulder to shoulder like we were when we were on the bench. I felt butterflies in my stomach again. Bloody hell. I felt my face burn up again I tried to hide it but he saw it. "What's wrong Arthur? Why are you red?" he said tilting his head in confusion. I sat there silent not saying a word. Words can not describe how embarrassed I was. "I-I'm fine" I managed to say. "Dude your face is getting red" he said as he put his hand on my forehead. That honestly did not help what so ever it just made it worse. I quickly ran out of the class and ran to the bathroom. As soon as I got in there I locked myself in a stall and looked at myself in the mirror. "Dammit Arthur what the hell" I whispered quietly to myself. I pushed the button to put the water on.

As soon as I pressed it. It turned off. Like what the hell! Why in the bloody hell would you even do that?! Why would you leave the water on for one second. These bloody idiots. Finally I managed to keep it on by hitting it hard. I put water in my hands and washed my face. No matter how much I tried I could never make my blush go away. I eventually gave up and walked back to class. I saw Alfred writing down notes and looking in the science book. He looked up at me. I could hear him sigh in relief. I walked to my desk and sat down and looked at his paper to see if his information was relevant to our project. It was correct but there was a few errors.

"Arthur you're back! I was worried" he said putting a arm around me and smiling. I felt face burn up again but I ignored it. I also put a arm around him and put a small smile. "Sorry Alfred. I shouldn't have ran out the class" I said looking into his eyes. "It's fine dude don't worry about it just don't scare me like that" he said looking straight at me. I just nodded and got a paper and pulled out my pencil.

Before I even put the tip of my pencil on the paper the bell ring for fifth period. I gathered my stuff and put it in my backpack. While Alfred was shoving his stuff in his. "My house?" he looked at me.  I was shocked and after what seemed like forever I finally replied and said,"Ok..meet me at the front of the school" "Ok dude" then he ran out the door.
