Aphmau's POV
The first thing I saw was Aaron. His head was down and he looked gaunt and tired. He was holding my hand, mumbling. He squeezed my hand. I was exhausted, but I managed to squeeze back. He stopped speaking. His head shot up, and I saw his eyes. They were dull and there were dark shadows under them, but he was there.
"Aaron..."
"Aph..."
Aaron lunged forward and wrapped his muscled arms around me, burying his head into my hair. I could feel his heartbeat and his heavy breathing. He pulled away and I could see tears streaking his face. I reached out a hand to brush them away.
"Why am I here?"
I slapped a hand across my mouth with horror when I heard my croaky voice.
"You had appendicitis. It was close to bursting, and you had to get surgery. It's been 3 days."
3 days. 3 days I haven't been awake. 3 days. Has Aaron been here for 3 days? Has anyone else been here? I could see Aaron's hand trembling. I could see tears form in his eyes. His hand went to my hospital gown. His shaking hand clasped the thin fabric and lifted it slightly revealing bandages wrapped around my waist. His hand gently touched the white bandages. My hand shot to his and grasped it, yanking it up to my heart. Aaron's midnight black eyes glinted in the fading sunlight. I gave a small smile.
"You're here..." Aaron said, his hand tightening around mine.
My smile grew wider.
"So are you."
