Chapter 17
“Bye,” I said one last time to all my friends apart from Adam as he was giving me a lift back to the hotel. We chatted comfortably about going out tomorrow during the car journey.
“So I’ll come pick you up at twelve tomorrow?” Adam said as he pulled up outside the hotel.
“Sure, see you then,” I responded as I climbed out of his car and made my way towards the hotel reception. I walked into the warm foyer, smiling at the doorman.
I hoped in the lift which swiftly took me up to the second floor and walked quickly along the carpeted hallways to my room. I slid my card into the door and pressed down on the handle when the door clicked unlock.
I glanced at the clock as the door slammed shut behind me. It read 2:34 AM, I guess I must have lost track of time.
I slipped out of my phone and smiled when I saw a new message from Lydia.
Well I’m glad you’re having a good time. It’s probably a good thing I’m not there 'cause then we wouldn’t have left the hotel room ;) L
My mouth dropped open as I read the text and I felt myself get excited, she was such a flirt and I loved it. I groaned as I realised I was going to have to wait another two days to see her. I quickly typed out a new message,
You are such a tease. Don’t worry we can make up for it when I get back ;) J
I hit the send button, smirking to myself. I stripped down to my boxers and jumped into my bed, making sure to have my phone close in case Lydia replied.
Just before I fell asleep my phone started to buzz. I frowned as I picked it up, who would be calling at this time?
“Hello?” I mumbled sleepily into my phone.
“Hey,” I immediately started to feel awake as I heard Lydia’s husky voice on the other end of the phone.
“Um hey, is everything ok?” I asked, sitting up.
“Yeah, I was just thinking why wait till Sunday?” My eyes widened as the words left her mouth. Was she saying what I thought she was saying?
“What?” I stuttered, my heart starting to crash inside my chest.
“I said why should we wait till Sunday?” My breath caught in my throat as she said those words for a second time.
“I love you so much,” I groaned, smiling broadly.
I spent the next two hours on the phone to Lydia and it was the best phone call of my life. When I finally got to sleep, I couldn’t hide the small smile on my face.
I woke up to the bright light of the hotel room. Groaning I pulled a pillow on top of my head to block out the florescent lights.
“Jake time to get up,” my mum called from the doorway. I felt the bed dip as she sat next to me. When she didn’t leave I turned to look at her, peeling the pillow away from my face and squinting due to the bright lights.
“What?” I said angrily. Why couldn’t she just leave me to sleep?
“Jake you need to get up. What was the point in coming all this way if you’re just going to sleep?”
“I’m only meeting up with my friends at twelve,” I grunted.
“Jake it is 11:30! If you had come home when I had told you to this wouldn’t be happening!” She sighed, obviously frustrated.
