Phinnie took deep breath to calm herself down.
It just a new teacher, right!?
Nothing new, she just needed to show her around the school.
She looked at the black clock hang by the wall and it had only been three minutes since she last looked at it. She let out another breath.
Her gaze shifted to the butterflies that decorated the wall on her right and she smiled. The calming feeling of doing what you love came over her. Being a teacher had always been her dream. Passing on knowledge was what she wanted to do, as much as it was a snotty school she had the best class.
Class four.
A class where they aren't demons yet, they still had the little respect they learnt from lower primary and the fact that they also had a bit of foundation when it came to education.
She had calmed down and released her hair to fall on her back and immediately regretted it.
It took her three freaking hours to get her hair in order and it was all gone. She went back to her stressful state but now she had hair everywhere.
Why Phinnie?
She tried to get them in order but it was all in vain, too much hair.
"Too much!?" A velvety voice woke her from the war she was loosing with her hair.
Looking through the thick strands she saw the new teacher. Miss Jones.
Short blond boy cut hair, black rimmed glasses and with a runny nose ring on her right. Her AC/DC tee looked so good with her black skinny pants. Low ballet shoes that matched her navy blue blazer made her look casual but serious.
Phinnie swallowed hard before dropping her hair band and stood up. Her attempt to make her hair fall back like the girls in the TV failed and at the corner of her eye she saw Miss. Jones giggle.
"I am Miss Rhadia." She stretched her hand out for her.
"Jones but call me Lilly." She shook her hand in a firm grip. "I can help you with that."she motioned at her Phinnie's hair.
Phinnie smiled at her akwadly feeling embarrassed and heat rose up her face. "I wanted to wear it like that." She immediately regretted her words.
"I can show you around school." Phinnie turned on her heel and led the way.
Lilly was right behind her. She was a tall but only by a few inches. Her structure was fit, she looked like she spends a good amount of time on herself.
"How long have you worked here?" Lilly asked when they came to the cafeteria door.
"Four years now." She sheepishly smiled and opened the door and Terry the cafeteria lady skilled at her.
Phinnie introduced her to everyone in the faculty and showed Lilly the class that they will be sharing.
Phinnie walked to the bathroom and released a breath that she had no idea she held. For the first time the since meeting Lilly she felt like she could breathe.
She didn't understand what she was feeling G but it was a good feeling. Was she attracted to Lilly? Only one way to find out. See how it goes.
She took a deep breath and splashed water on her beat face, she hates how she didn't go extra mile to add mascara and lipstick to her look, now she looks like the walking dead. She passed her long fingers through her hair and loved how velvety it felt. At least one thing was going right in her life and with a final look at her reflection she walked out.

"What's for dinner?" A worn out Jess threw herself onto the couch loving the feel of relation that took over. She looked over at her roommate who was busy stirring away at the stove. Clearly, Phinnie hadn't heard her.She walked over to her roommate eyeing her carefully. Phinnie's eyes were fixated on the pot in front of her, her mind wasn't on earth at all.
She looked over at the slow burning stove and the pasta that with a bother stir would turn to mush and breathed out.
"Still thinking of Raj?"
Looking like she was brutally pulled out of her thoughts she held her heart as if stoping g it from jumping from her cage. "Why do you always do that?"
"Do what?" She pointed at the pot and Phinnie immediately stoped. "Scare you? You always give me the chance to."
Jess walked over the other side of the counter and leaned in toward her friend. Phinnie looked at her through her long lashes and saw the sympathy that was soon got washed away in Jess' eyes before she continued.
"He is a douche and you know it honey-"
Phinnie had heard of the same lecture for the past three years, ever since she and Raj broke up. Her history with him go back since first year of uni and since he wanted a woman who'd stay at home and Phinnie wasn't that type of girl he broke it off. Sometimes she wishes she could have stayed and said yes to his demands. That was among the reasons why she doesn't see eye to eye with her dad.
"It's not Raj." She said with so much certainty it felt good coming out of her mouth. Jess pulled back in shock giving her the look of spill.
"It is work."
Jess pulled the stool, " I know you love your job, I mean out of the five friends that you dearly love you are the one who smiles every morning getting ready, unless you are PMSing, so that look of deep thought is something that only exist when a man is involved and if it ain't Raj it has to be someone new."
Yes it is someone new and she is confusing me as hell. Phinnie thought to herself as she turned to get their plates. She gently placed the white plates on the counter.
"See, you are even picking 'the I am happy and giddy plates'."
She looked up at Jess in pure confusion. "The what!"
Jess jumped from her stool and joined Phinnie on her side. She picked the tongs and gave herself a huge serving. For a model she always ate a lot.
"When you are mad and depressed, you go for the gray plates. When you are in a good mood you do black and when you are happy and all you always pull white. That usually happens in the morning." She slapped the second spoonful of pasta on her plate. She walked over to the stew pot and once she was done her salad, that she had gotten used to serving on a different plate, was last served.
"I just said it was work."
"Who is he?"
"I can promise you it ain't no man." Phinnie walked over to the couch with her plate.
Jess eyed her not ready to drop the topic.
"So what happened at work today." She asked changing the direction of everything.
"Nothing, there is a new teacher though, her name is Lil- I mean M.s Jones." She coughed corrected herself.
"Mmmhhh" Jess responded with her eyes fixed on Phinnie.
"This is her first time in the country and teaching here. She seems pretty cool."
"Cool?" Jess chocked on her words. "Since when do you use cool."
"She might have said it a few times for it to get stuck in my head" she mumbled her words.
She looked up at Jess who was looking at her plate, playing with her food as if trying to piece the puzzle.
Deep down she knew that Jess would figure it out way before she does and she hates herself for that. She looked back at her food and skilled at her new feeling.
