The scene looked like something out of an old movie. Fancy dresses leaned in the bar with drinks that looked like were hard for thier high class social bar lying in front of them. All were there except Angie.
"Am I the only one who had a long night?' Cylia asked after her mouth tasted the burning liquid that was in her short glass.
"Nope." Lu answered so fast turning her face to look at Jess who locked eyes with her in a battle of unsaid words.
Phinnie looked passed her drink to stare at the emptiness in front of her. "At least you all aren't confused."
Cylia looked up from her glass to the young lad that was serving them just noticing then the absence of him."Where is Mark?"
"He had something he needed to get to." The guy who looked like he was in his early twenties replied with a smile on his face.
"Anyone seen Angie?" Jess asked trying to change the topic and the young lad looked up at the girls with worry after Jess' question only to smooth up his features after.
"I haven't seen her today." He replied taking another empty glass and wiping it.
The silence echoed between the girls with the sound of the faint music playing behind them and the glasses kissing the costas when they put them down was the only thing that could be heard.
Time seemed to have taken it's vacation because it wasn't moving and the drinks kept on getting a refill every time they ran empty. No one had the power or will to say stop. The wheels that were turning in their heads needed to be numbed just for the night.
"I think I am gay." Phinnie said looking at the girls.
"What!?" Cylia and Lu couldn't hide their surprise. Jess was busy putting a stop to the drinks that the guy kept on refilling.
" she has a huge crush on her new coulegue at work." She stated as if she knew every detail before continuing. "I think the right word should be Bi-honey." She looked past the girls to Phinnie.
"What!?"
"I think the both of you should now stop with the what." Phinnie rubbed her bridge of the nose, she could feel the questions coming from her parents and she hated it. "It doesn't mater if I am bi, the thing is that I like a girl and that to my traditional Indian raised parents is bull crap."
"I just think you should try out with her first, there is no point in letting your parents know and you aren't sure yet where you stand with her." Jess spoke, clearly she had already thought far ahead. "My advise is take each day as it comes."
"Who is this girl and what!?" Lu looked over to Phinnie for more information but she was busy playing with some strands that had found their way from her perfect Grecian gooddes hairdo to fall on her black dress. She wasn't going to get anything. She had said enough.
Lu let out a deep breath that made her feel less tensed. She needed to ask her and tonight was the best shot she had. "How do you know Avan's brother?" .
Like a deer caught in the head lights, jess felt her body tense, she wanted to be the one to bring the issue up. "We dated," she turned to Lu giving her a sorry look before adding, "For a week, back in Madrid. I swear it was nothing serious. I was a 19 year old model up there for work and he was backpack hiking the south."
"Who the hell is Avan?" Cylia asked looking between the two girls.
"Yeah, how do you know Avan?" Jess echoed Cylia's question knowing so well the effect it had on Lu.
"He is my new neighbour."
"Oh really?" Cylia's eyes were now drawn to a slit, she knew there was more to him just being a neighbour.
"Really!?" Jess's really was more of astonishment. "According to everything Max told me his big brother is a workaholic who spends his money on the most expensive shit that money could buy. He was the next in seat after his father leaves Lugraw. What was he doing in your apartment building?"
"Lugraw as in one of the Lugonze's companies?" Cylia stated now looking at Jess in wide eyes. Lu had turned to playing with one of her tassels.
"I didn't know he worked there." She whispered low but her friends heard and they picked up. She was confused.
"OK, let me get this straight. Phinnie is gay-"
"Bi sexual." Phinnie corrected her, she had risen from her thoughts.
"OK, bisexual, Lu is somehow having a huge crush on the type of men she hated and Jess knows the brother of the supposed man." Cylia questioned and everybody shook their heads in agreement. "Wow! And I thought my situation with Ian was bad." She suddenly hated herself for saying that.
She felt them, their eyes begging for her to answer them, she wasn't ready to face the fact that she might just be falling for a man who has been her enemy since she started her company.
"Damn, look at the time, I have an early meeting tomorrow."
She heard the bar boy laugh and she knew he knew what she was doing. They exchanged looks of stop and I am sorry before she stormed out of the tinny bar.
The cold breeze hit her immediately and she pulled on her trench coat close to her liking the warmth that came with it.
There she was again, the first one to leave. She looked at the empty road and wished for a taxi. Her phone looked back at her with 2:30 numbers blinking when she turned it back to sleep mode.
"Mark don't stop." The empty streets made even the tinniest drop of sound be heard. She walked to where the voice came from slowly. It wasn't like it was too late for drama.
"I wont ." the man's voice that was already familiar to her, whispered back. Her curiosity continued to grow with each step she took. She knew the females voice but she needed to make sure it was really her, that and the fact that it would be fun to see how the two sex crazed adults would act when she cleared her throat at them.
She tip toed, feeling stupid but she made sure no sound was heard from her and when she was close to the side of Drums, she saw it. She saw them.
Her legs wrapped around his hips tightly pulling him to her leaving no space. Her short dress was all the way up her waist and her face was buried deep in his in a kiss that looked like they were both hungry for each other.
Fun! She stepped out behind the wall and cleared her throat.
These two are the sex crazed humans. She smiled to herself before clearing her throat. "I think my house is closer than yours Angie."
The two froze stopping what they were doing and looked at Cylia. Her hands were crossed over her chest, holding the expensive trench coat in place.
Fuck! Angie cursed under her breath before pulling her legs from Mark and pulling her dress down. "I am sorry you found out this way." She mumbled. No words that she could say would change what Cylia saw and she knew her friend so good. She believed what her eyes told her and most of the times they were true.
The smug on Cylia's face couldn't be hidden. "How long have you guys been doing this?" She waved her hand at them lazily with a high pitched skweeqy voice.
"Three months now." Mark spoke tucking in his shirt.
"Well!" Cylia walked towards her giving her a smile and Angie knew that smile. She hated that damn smile. "The girls and I need details honey." She held Angie's hand and dragged her towards the bar.
