After my final eye exam it was just a waiting game. I sat there in a chair looking around. Everything was blurry. I could make out the color and form of Riley as he sat in a chair near me. I could tell he was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt on with his regular jeans and boots. "Riley." "Yes punkin?" He asked looking up. "What kind of blue shirt are you wearing?" I asked. He stood up. "Yesterday you couldn't see bright colors. Then today I wear the brightest shirt I own and you can tell what color it is." He said starting to chuckle. "Your eyesight is definitely improving." He added kneeling down in front of me.
"Is that a good thing?" I asked unsure of the reason. "Its the best thing. That means your eyes are healing. That means you'll be able to see once again." He said. I could see his arm raise to my face. Then I felt his hand against my cheek. I leaned into his touch enjoying the way it felt against it. I wish I could see his face more clearly. I wish I never had this problem.
The doctor came in with a case of some sort. "These are special made glasses. The lenses will need to be checked and changed out once a month. Your eyes should heal within a year or so from the date of the surgery." The male doctor said. He opened whatever it is and pulled something out. "Try these on and we'll see which modifications need to be made." He said handing them to me.
I found the frame and slid them on. They were a bit loose around my ears and kept sliding down my nose. "We'll fixed the looseness real quick and you'll be able to get back to whatever you were doing before you arrived." The doctor said. Its been little over a week since getting here the first night. I was ready to go home and away from New York City.

Once all of the modifications had been made I was released to go home. We were currently on the flight back home. I couldn't wait to get back to the ranch. Once I first saw what Barrow looked like I felt sorry for the poor horse. His face was messed up to the point where he'd actually need a surgery just to fix his muzzle. No wonder someone would turn him into a blind person's assistance. He was coyote ugly, he was so ugly it was cute though. He still had a heart of gold and wanted to help me as much as he could.
"How do the glasses feel?" Riley asked me. "Different." I answered. "You'll get use to them. Your head might hurt a bit while your trying to get use to them, but Barrow will help you out with that." He said. I nodded and looked out the plane window.
Once we got back to the ranch the glasses were starting to make my head hurt. I took them off and let Barrow help me around. Its going to be a good while before I really need to let him go. I couldn't wait to start working with my horses again!
