I sit and wait
My stomach up in my throat, my heart beating so heavily I feel my ribs creek trying to hold those ferocious beats back
Hours pass and I sit patiently
And wait
Wait till I'm needed
Wait till I'm wantedBut the calls never came
The silence like a sharp blade pierced my skin
Yet I still waited
Holding onto what I thought was hope
What I thought was loveI was blinded
That was not hope nor love, but anger and resentmentI learnt a lesson that day
Don't wait
Don't ever wait.
