I stomped my feet on the ground as Jakyung, my best friend, and I waited outside of a dance studio. "I don't want to learn how to dance!" I whined like a little kid who didn't get what they wanted. Jakyung simply sighed and shook her head. "Get over it. I want to learn, but I don't want to do this alone."
I stomped my foot like a child, about to continue whining, but something stopped me. That something was a gorgeous man turned the corner, walking towards us. Jakyung looked at me confused, then followed my gaze, and began gaping along with me. He was wearing a loose white t-shirt and a pair of black sweatpants along with a pair of sneakers. It was a simple outfit, but enough to make him look absolutely gorgeous. The god smiled at us once he stood in front of us.
"I'm guessing you two ladies are here for the private dance lesson?" His voice jolted me out of my daydreaming. Jakyung nodded hurriedly, not trusting her voice. His smiled widened. "Well, I'm Jung Hoseok, and I'm going to be your dance instructor." His eyes glanced at me, but settled back on Jakyung, making me scowl. I subtly pushed her behind me. "I'm (L/n) (Y/n), nice to meet you, Hoseok. This is Park Jakyung, my best friend." I smiled sweetly up at Hoseok. He hummed at my introduction, but his eyes kept glancing at Jakyung.
I was mentally cursing at Jakyung by this point. While I had the confidence to talk to him and try to get to know him, he goes for a girl that only gawks at his looks! I sighed, closing my eyes momentarily. My sigh seems to snap him out of his trance, because he started fumbling for his keys. "Well, I might as well start the lesson!" Hoseok opened up the dance studio door for us, grinning, at Jakyung of course.
I muttered a small agreement and brushed past him. Jakyung hurriedly followed behind me. "This is a nice studio, how much did it cost?" I made another attempt at conversation. "It didn't cost all that much, actually. The elderly woman who owns this building is quite sweet." Hoseok answered, his eyes finally scanning my face fully. His eyes focusing on my face made my heart flutter, but my heart deflated when he went back to staring at Jakyung. I huffed and pushed her in front of me. "Well, I'm not really here for the dancing, I'm here for moral support. Have fun, Jakyung." I practically spit out her name.
As I sassily walked to a plastic chair, I felt their eyes on me but I ignored them. I sat down and crossed my legs. Taking out my phone, I watched Hoseok begin to guide Jakyung. He pressed a button on a small stereo, causing music to play. Hoseok began to demonstrate the dance for her. I stared in awe as he danced. Not only did his body and moves look flawless, his face looked so laser focused. I could tell that dancing really was his passion.
The music stopped and Hoseok went back to guiding Jakyung. Jealousy burned inside my chest when he put his hand on her waist. I distracted myself again by grabbing my sketchbook out of the gym bag Jakyung brought. 'He's just a stupid dance instructor. Not even your own (Y/n).' I thought to myself. I sighed and began sketching Jakyung and Hoseok dancing.
The hour long session passed without me even noticing while I sketched.
"You're really talented." I threw my pencil as I jumped up to my feet, clutching my chest. Hoseok stood next to my chair, smiling innocently. I scowled at him. "What is wrong with you?!" His smile faltered at my annoyed tone. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, your drawing was just amazing." I sighed and looked around the studio. Jakyung and her bag were no where to be found.
"If you're wondering where Jakyung went, she already left. She was angry at me for some reason." I raised an eyebrow at him and took a step back. "Why was she angry?" I asked, skeptical. Hoseok shrugged. "Something about me staring at you too much." I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "For the record, you were staring at her the entire time we first met. You wanted nothing to do with me. The only reason you're talking with me now is because she left and you just want to pick up me now, your last option." I angrily stomped my way back towards him and snatched up my sketchbook and pencil bag from the ground.
As I walked away from him, towards the door, I suddenly heard fast footsteps behind me. Hoseok grabbed my wrist, stopping me. I whirled around and exclaimed "Get away from me!"
"But I actually am genuinely interested in you! You seem so closed off to people, but I know there's more to you! The reason I was looking at her was because I was too scared to look you in the eyes. I know, it was cowardly of me, but I was scared I would mess something up and look like an idiot in front of you!" Hoseok spoke quickly, and it took me a few moments to fully understand what he was saying. I blinked multiple times, my mouth opening and closing. My face flushed, and I looked away from him.
"Oh."
That was all I could say in my embarrassment. We both stood there, silent. I thought about what inc oils do to end this horrible silence. I could run. But I could also say something and tell him I'm also interests in him, but I'm not straightforward like that. "Well."
My head snapped up at his voice. I tilted my head. "Would you like to go on a date with me? Or we could just hangout, if you want. We could keep this friendly if you're comfortable with that. I don't want to push you out of your-" I cut Hoseok off my smashing my lips onto his. It took him a little while, but he eventually began kissing back. After I pulled away, my face flushed a darker shade of red and I looked away again. "I would love to go on a date with you." I stuttered.
Hoseok grinned in front of me. He pulled me by wrist into his chest, and began laughing. "Oh gosh, you have no idea how nervous I was!" He wrapped his arms around me as he continued laughing his heartwarming laugh. I began giggling along with him, surprising him.
"Y'know, maybe you're not so bad."
