He runs across the field for the last time today. His hair is falling against his sweaty forehead and his breathing is irregular. He hears the roars from his teammates that make him sprint even faster, adrenaline pumping in every single part of his body.
When he plays, he is in his habitat. Gritted teeth, roaring soul and no fear whatsoever. He is a sculpture made by the gods, he is a lion. He is the lion.
As soon as the practice ends, his mates come up to him as they always do, almost worshipping him, as if he were a divine creature.
Before entering the locker room, he always lets his eyes wander, looking for someone on the bleachers, but rarely finds her. Today was one of those days.
She is always sitting there at games, when everybody can see them together, when everybody's eyes are on them.
Heading back to change he is caught off guard when he is engulfed by a scent he knows way too well, the scent of expensive and exclusive.
The scent of his girlfriend, Sofia. Her lips crash unto his, quickly trying to deepen the kiss. Their tongues begin moving in sync, his hands rest around her waist while her hungry hands can't find just one spot to place themselves. They move from his broad shoulders to his cheeks to his messy hair.
She keeps her eyes open, focusing on what's around them. When they finally part, Alexander looks into her eyes and smiles a little.
"What are you doing here? You usually don't come during practice," he says, passing his hand through his hair.
"Just wanted to see my hot boyfriend," she says, fixing a hair on top of Alexander's head.
He is sure there's more to it, she isn't usually like this.
"And ask him whether or not he would like to come over tonight. Some of his friends are coming too," she added.
Alexander sighed, "I need to study tonight, we can hang tomorrow."
Sofia rolled her eyes, "We haven't hung out a lot recently. Are you ignoring me? You always have some type of excuse."
"You know what's going on with my family and I lately so I'm not making up fucking excuses, I'm sorry if I'm busy and I actually want to do something for myself and study tonight."
"So now you're choosing studying for a night over me?"
"No, I mean, technically yeah," he sighed. Fuck. "Fine, I'll be there."
She kisses him on the cheek and leaves, her hips swinging, her hands touching up her long blonde hair. Her figure begins to slowly fade away, until it's no where to be found.
She is pretty, there's no need to lie. Her lips are rosy pink and her eyes are ice, her body is undeniably perfect, although perfect doesn't exist. She has no flaw from the outside and he has none either, maybe that's why fate brought them together. Maybe that's just how it was always supposed to be.
They have to be perfect because fate wants it like this.
After taking a quick shower, he joins the other guys and gets changed. He puts on a black pair of jeans and a Nike hoodie of the same color.
As he is putting on his shoes, he is surprised by a pat on his back by his best friend Kevin.
"Yo," he says.
"Hey, good job out there," Alexander says, standing up. They are face to face, Kevin's dark eyes look at him and lets out a chuckle.
"Yeah but you are always greater." Alexander shakes his head, smiling while putting his football gear in his bag.
