Howl's POV
"Finally!" I can't help but breathe and release the breath I hadn't realized I was holding. "Now lather it into your hair, like shampoo," I instruct.
"But I like my hair the color it is," Artemis complains.
"I do, too," did that really just slip out? "But it is only going to last an hour or so," I clarify.
"Fine," Artemis groans, as she pours some of the potion into her hair from the thin, crysatlline blue vial. "But if something turns out wrong, I am blaming you!"
"Okay."
"As in Markl will bring me your head on a platter!"
"Will it be silver?" I tease, trying not to chuckle audibly.
"No, that would compliment your eyes too much and then I would feel guilty for killing you-"
"So you like my eyes?" I waggle my eyebrows.
Artemis rolls her eyes and shreiks as she sees the color of her waist length curls.
"Howl!"
"Hey, you mad the potion. not me." I yank on the end of one of the coils, insoecting the new and temporary shade in the dim light of the bathroom, as the sun slowly set. "And it doesn't look all that bad. It kind of suits you." I grin widely, before continueing. "Must have used to much apple blossom nectar."
"How could this disaster possibly suit me?! I used the exact amount of nectar you told me to, by the way! Imagine your hair being turned white! I used to dislike the reddish brown t was before but this is worse!"
"Your hair was suiting in auburn, but it looks good in snowy white, too."
"You mean old people white-" I hook my elbow through Artemis's arm. "Where-"
"We are going on a little walk," I anounce, smiling gently.
----------------------------------------
"I love your hair!" Many passers by tell Artemis, animated and excited. Other ask how such a beautiful young lady has such silvery hair. I personally find that the way the full moon makes her currently silvery white hair glow, like snow in sunshine. Each crstalline peice if ice blazing, like a colorless fire. Why can Artemis see in herself what I see?
I finally explain, "I used to say that I didn't see the point in life if I couldn't be beautiful."
"But you are beautiful," Artemis responds, blushiing slightly as she realizes what she just admitted.
"I had accidentally died my hair orange. An awful, awful orange. I am over it now though. Why can't you see that you are beautiful, too?" I ask.
