Y/N POV
It's my eighteenth birthday today and honestly I'm not feeling it. The older I get the less excited I am about my birthday. Honesty I don't feel like my birthday is that big of deal, it's just another day on the calendar. All of my friends have wished me happy birthday about eighteen times today. My mom has tried to keep my little birthday dinner a surprise but she failed miserably, I overheard her talking to my aunt on the phone about what foods to make.
I appreciate all the effort that my mom is putting into this dinner but she didn't have to do that.
The school day is over and now I have to go pick up my little sister from her class. While I was walking down the hall Normani was trying to catch up to me. Normani and I haven't talked since she found out about my hookup with Dinah and I honestly don't have anything to say to her.
"What do you want Normani?" I asked.
"Calm down Y/N I just wanted to wish you happy birthday." Normani said.
"Thank you." I said.
"I was also wondering if you'd like to hang out sometimes, just the two of us." Normani said.
"Thanks but no thanks." I said.
"Why not?" Normani asked.
"Let's see for one I'm seeing Dinah now and I don't want to mess things up. You're going out with my best friend so you shouldn't be coming at me like this anyway. I gave you a chance but you didn't want me, I've moved on and I'm happy. Have a nice day Normani." I said.
I kept on walking until I reached my sister's classroom. Skylar was sitting at the table with two of her friends color. Skylar's teacher let me know that she had a great day in school. I walked over to Skylar and placed my hands over her eyes and asked, "Guess who princess?"
"Y/N!" She said excitedly.
"Are you ready to go princess?" I asked.
"Yeah but I need to get your birthday present first." Skylar said.
Skylar went into her cubby and got we big bag then she went over to the art station and came back with a picture. Skylar drew a picture of me and write happy birthday at the top.
"Do you like it?" Skylar asked.
"I love baby girl thank you. It's the best gift I've gotten all day." I said.
"Let's go home and eat cake." Skylar said.
"Let's do that princess." I said.
Skylar held my hand and we walked out to my car where Dinah was waiting for us. Dinah helped Skylar get in the car and we went home. When we got back to the house my mom was standing on the front step waiting on me. I already knew what she was going to say so I just gave her a hug in return.
"Thank you mama." I said.
"Happy birthday son. I love you." Mom said.
I kissed her on the cheek, "I love you too mama." I said.
Dinah gave my mom a hug and Skylar did the same. We went into the house and my uncle Marco and his wife Linda were in the kitchen cooking. Mom told Dinah and I to go get changed so we could eat. I thought Dinah and I were going into my room to change but mom had other plans. She made Dinah go in Yasmine's room and change. It wasn't that big of a deal because I've already seen Dinah's beautiful body before. After I got changed I went downstairs and all of my friends were there. I don't know how they got here so quick but I'm glad they were here.
