Y/N POV
The best part about Thanksgiving is the food, I mean chilling with your family is cool and all but the food is the best part. My mom has been in the kitchen since early this morning cooking everything. Mama usually doesn't go all out for the holidays so this is a bit of a shocker me. Yasmine is in the kitchen helping her cook while Skylar is in the living room watching cartoons. I wish that Normani could be here but I get to see to her later on for dinner at her place.
So far things are great between Normani and I. We've been talking a lot more which is a good thing because communication is very important. Even though Normani and I aren't officially dating I feel like we're a couple, maybe I'll ask her to be my girlfriend. But I don't know when I should tell her about my job as a stripper. I've made a good impression on Mani's parents but I don't know how they'll react when they find out. But I'm only doing it to help out around the house and to save up some money so I can buy things for the baby.
We eat early in our house for the holidays so I'm standing in front my bathroom mirror getting ready to shave. I put the wet towel on my face and shook up the can of shaving cream. Skylar must've heard me shaking up the can because she ran into the bathroom.
"I wanna help!" She said excitedly.
"Alright kiddo go get that chair stool out of my room." I said.
Skylar went into my room to get the stool and dragged it into the bathroom. I picked Skylar up and sat her on the counter. I sat down on the stool and handed Skylar the can of shaving cream. She squeezed some into her hand and rubbed it on my face.
"Are you gonna let me shave you?" Skylar asked.
"Yes but you have to be very careful with the razor, okay." I said.
"I promise I'll be very careful." Skylar said.
"Alright let's get started." I said as I handed Skylar my razor.
Skylar took the razor and slowly dragged it across my cheek. She rinsed the razor off in the sink and continued shaving my face. I expected her to knick me a few times but surprisingly she didn't.
"Y/N who taught you how to shave?" Skylar asked.
"Mama." I said.
"Really?" Skylar asked.
"Yep. Dad wasn't around when I started growing facial hair so mom taught me how to shave. She literally put shaving cream on her face and showed me what to do." I said.
"Mommy's like Wonder Woman, she can do anything." Skylar said.
"That sounds about right." I said.
"Even though I don't know daddy that well, I really miss him and I wish he would come home." Skylar said.
"I miss him too Skylar." I said.
Skylar finished shaving my face and I was quite impressed with the results. She wiped the excess shaving cream off my face and put on some aftershave. I handed Skylar the spray bottle so she could wet my hair before styling it.
"You know Mark is coming to dinner right?" Skylar asked.
"You're joking right?" I asked.
"Nope I heard mommy talking to him on the phone when I was in the kitchen." Skylar said.
All I wanted was to have a peaceful Thanksgiving with my mama and my sisters, not my mama's new friend. Ever since my mom's birthday all I hear is Mark's name and I'm getting sick of it. My mom's bailed on movie night with us just to hang out with him. She's says they're just friends but I'm not buying that just friends bullshit. There's something about this dude that I just don't like, I feel like he's hiding something but I don't know what it is.
