Rhonda rushed to her mothers house and back to work  before her lunch break was over .

Rhonda got off work around 4:30 and went to her moms .

Shawny and john was already ready for Lisa's ceremony.

"Did Lisa tell you what she did at school today?" Rhonda asked as she walked in the kitchen.

"Yea she did!" Shawny replied.

"Come here let me talk to you!" Said john to Rhonda as he walked out of the kitchen. 

"Oh dam!" Lisa thought to herself.

"Yes dad?"

"I just want to know if Bennie is coming to her awards ceremony? She was very angry when she got here. Is he on child support Rhonda!? Because he will not treat her this way! She has done nothing to deserve this bullshit!"

"He's been on child support since she was 2 dad! He doesn't have to come! I'm not gonna beg him . As long as we are there for her, he shouldn't matter!" Rhonda began to cry .
She's always emotional when it comes down to her daughter.

John hugged her, trying to comfort her.

She quickly dried her tears when she heard Lisa's voice.

"Mom? Aren't you supposed to be getting ready for my ceremony !?"

"Yea sweetie! I have to run home and change clothes right quick ok!? You can ride there with your grandparents ok!?"

"Ok! We will be waiting on you mama."

Rhonda kissed Lisa on the forehead and walked out the door with tears falling down her face.

She sat in the car crying. Blaming it all on herself. She punched the steering wheel screaming "Ughhhhhhhhhh!!"

For every time she thought about him not being there for her daughter , a tear fell.

She pulled out her phone and call Bennie.

No answer..
She texted him, no response.

She never did check the message from Anthony that was sent earlier.

She went in to check the message.
It read " Hey, what are you doing later?"

She texted him back "Lisa has a rewards ceremony at 5:30, so that's where I'll be."

He responded "Would you like me to come and support?"

"If you want to."

"Give me a solid answer woman lol." He responded.

"Yes please, I would love that 😏."

Rhonda rushed home to change clothes. She put on her favorite red dress.

She looked at her watch and it was 5:00.

"Got dammit!" She ran out the door and got in the car.

She ended up calling Bennie back one last time.

No answer.

"Fuck him!"

When Rhonda arrived at the school Anthony was already there, standing outside waiting on her.

"Hey there!" He said, hugging Rhonda. "You look beautiful. Did you get all dressed up for me!?"

"Thank you and no I did not!" She said smiling.

"Come on , lets go."
They both walked in together , her before him.
John and Shawny sat in the front.
Rhonda looked around for Bennie but there was no sign of him.

She checked her phone. Nothing.
"Is everything ok!?" Anthony asked.

"Yea, everything's fine." Rhonda replied.

Lisa got 5 awards. Honor roll, principals list, perfect attendance, prettiest smile, and citizenship.

Rhonda was so proud of her .

The ceremony only lasted about and hour and a half.

"Mommy !!! I got 5 awards!" Lisa said, jumping up and down.

John and Shawny congratulated her.

"Yayyy! You want ice cream after this?"

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Lisa said, jumping up and down.

She looked over at Anthony and he was staring at her.

"I take it you want ice cream too huh!?"

"Sure!"

Anthony followed Rhonda to her house.

"Are we going in your car or mine!?" Anthony asked.

"I'm driving, so we can go in my car!" She replied.

They pulled up at Baskin Robbins.
"Yayyy! Ice cream!!" Lisa yelled, in the back seat holding one of her awards.

They walked in and sat down.

"Can I get the big ice cream this time mommy!?"

Rhonda looked at Anthony.

"Yes, you can get the big ice cream!" Anthony said, looking back at Rhonda.

"So, I saw that you were looking for some one at the awards ceremony . Where you looking for her father!?"

"I don't want to talk about him while she's sitting right here."

"My bad."
"But since you asked, yea, that's who I was looking for!"

"Well, I'm here so....."

"So...what!?"

"Nothing, so when are we going on this second date!?"

Rhonda looked across the table at Lisa, focusing on which chocolate chip to choose.

"What about tomorrow night!?"

"Tomorrow night is good! I get off at 4."

"Be ready at 9."

"I will, are you ready to go!? We could go back to my place and watch movies. Just me, you and Lisa!"

"I have to run to the restaurant for my dad , I could come back . It'll only be a few minutes."

"Ok, that will be good!" She said, smiling.

"Baby!? You ready to go!?" Rhonda said , looking over at Lisa.

With a mouth full of ice cream she replied "Yupp!"

Rhonda and Anthony burst out laughing .

They pulled up at Rhonda's house and sat in the car.

"So, I guess I'll see you tomorrow huh!?" Rhonda said, sarcastically.

"I told you I was coming back later on."

"Ok, I'll see!"

Anthony got out of the car and his mouth dropped.

His 2 front windows where burst out...........,,,,,,,,,,
