A/N: Hello, this is not apart of "Do You Remember?", so don't get shocked. I have been working on a different book, with a different genre: mystery/thriller. This is a little Preview of the first chapter of the book. The book will only be uploaded, when "Do You Remember?" is going to come to an end. Tell me what you think about the beginning and if  you would be interested into reading a book of this kind. Thank you so much again for reading "Do You Remember?". After this chapter, there will be the chapter that actually belongs to the book you decided to read. ;) xx

With a file in his hand, he walked through the office. His eyes were scouting for Kayla. The empty desk gave him the information, that she was not in yet. That was also reconfirmed by the partner sitting next to her. He thanked his employe and went back into his closed of office. The file was sitting in front of him, the big red letters 'Confidential' awakening his curiosity. He himself had put the file together, but the file looked very inviting. Without much thinking he opened the file and double checked the papers and the pictures. Everything was perfect. Now all he had to do was sit and wait.

A call from the secretary came in. When he picked up the phone, he was notified, that Kayla had arrived. Before setting a foot out of his office, he checked his almost non existent hair in a small mirror, he kept in one of this drawers.

There she was sitting in her small cubicle, trying to log into her computer. He cleared his throat and walked over to her desk. Once again he let out the same sound to get her attention, which he did. Her brown-golden eyes were looking at him. A smile formed on her face, her signature red lips making her teeth look bleached.

They walked next to each other into his office, the file placed on his desk. He took a seat on his chair and looked at the file and then at Kayla, inviting her to take a look at the file. She flipped through the papers and pictures, it was his newest client. Male, age 45, white, once again. Working here she had realised that many people hated the white old men, either they had to much power or they got away with a horrible crime that she was supposed to get justice for.

"Why me?" Kayla looked at her boss, who was taking a sip of his organic green tea.

"You are the best in this field. After all he is a man and I don't know if Roy would be happy about having to pretend to be in love with a man. The man himself is strait and you are the only female that knows about what we really do here." He explained.

"That is also one of my problems, why are there not more women working in this field? I am lonely here. Roy and Pete are getting on my nerves." she put the file down and leaded on the table, hoping for her boss to make a difference.

"Not everyone can know about it. If you can find another woman, that I can trust and that has the similar characteristics like you and has an above average IQ, then you may have a female partner. But for now, you are stuck with Pete and Roy."

Kayla rolled her eyes and sighed. Of course he was not going to do what she asked. All the possible women went through her mind. She needed to find the right one or else she was going to go crazy and murder Pete or Roy, probably Roy. His cocky alter ego was driving her crazy.

She grabbed the file of the table and walked back to the desk. A few people were gossiping about her and all she did was smile and wave at them. The two women turned red and looked away with embarrassment. At her desk was a cup of coffee and a bagel, which she did not recall seeing there before she went into the bosses office.

"It's for you princess" the deep voice of her neighbour Roy was heard. Soon enough his handsome face appeared from behind the fine black wall.

Kayla nodded as a thank you. She was not ready to talk to Roy. She took a seat on her chair and finally remembered her password for the computer. Roy was still staring at her with a smirk on his slim face.

"Do you have a problem?" not even glazing at him.

"I was looking for words to tell you, you look very good today. Is that blouse made out of silk per chance?" he eyes her top.

"I know I look good. You don't need to tell me. And no it is not silk." she looked him in his eyes.

"Well if you would have a real man to take care of you, then you would be wearing a real silk blouse, which is way more comfortable."

Those words made her upset.

"A real man like you? Oh help me, real man, save me from my freedom and my happy life. All I need is you and your money, because I can't work for myself." Irony filling each word.

The smile on his face disappeared and he vanished behind the wall again. Finally, peace and quiet.

The red letters of the file looked very inviting, so she opened it once more. The man looked good for being in his mid 40s. He was the owner of a big casino company. From the comment, given from the person that called for the favour, she could tell it was either his wife or important woman in his wife. One of the main reasons, why they would want to get rid of him, would be to take his position. Made he had an affair and this was her revenge.

Going into detail was not her job. She just needed o get rid of this man without a trace and then she would have a next persons life in her hands.

Kayla took her phone out of her bag and dialled a number. Like always, she was sent to voice mail.

"Pack your luggage and bring a bag filled with money, in cash."
