Awake

"Don't expect too much."

My eyes widened and I immediately rush to her room. I ran, getting scolded by several nurses, doctors and members of staff but I kept running, heart racing, adrenaline rushing through my veins quicker than lightning.

I burst through the white door and see her, sitting up, nibbling on a cracker. "(Y/n)...." I breathed.

"Um....who are you?"

My world stopped spinning, my heart crashed to the floor, shattering like glass. Tears flooded my eyes as I stepped towards her. Her face held a look of confusion and guilt. "I..I'm Levi....don't you remember me?" I stammered. She looked me up and down, taking in my appearance only then to look into my eyes. Her eyes were cold and almost like a brick wall was behind them, no smile on her face, her cheeks not red like they used to be. "No." she said coldly, every letter dripping venom, my eyes widened and I found the tears spilling. She looked so confused as to why this man was crying in front of her. However, she didn't call my name and try calm me down, no, instead she pressed the button for the nurses assistance.

In less than a minute, Kate burst into the room, a distressed look on her face softening immediately after laying eyes on me. "I think you two need to talk. (Y/n), let him and trust me when I tell you he's not lying." Kate winked and left the room.

"I guess you can sit down."

I did so.

"So what do you want to say?"

I couldn't. I couldn't utter a single word. My eyes were glued to hers, my lips longing for hers, my hands itching to touch hers and my arms longing to hold her. I couldn't even believe she couldn't remember me.

"We...I mean I....we were together." I said slowly and let it sink in. Her eyes gradually widened. "L-Levi?" I choked out a sob as she said my name. "I-I can't remember...anything." She stuttered. I stroked her hair and smiled at her. "It's okay. I promise. I'll just go talk to a doctor real quick okay?" I whispered and she nodded.

The second that door closed, I dropped to my knees and sobbed my heart out. Hanji was there right away and kept me in her arms for a long while.

Time skip

After about 15 minutes of straight up crying, cursing and screaming, I redeemed my composure and decided to talk to the doctor.

"Come in."

"Hello, I'm here to ask about (y/n) (l/n)." I said politely, sniffing a bit after as my nose was still a bit runny. "Are you family?" He asked with a soft tone. My eyes narrowed slightly at his tone and the was his demeanour changes at her name. I don't like him.

"We live together. I'm her boyfriend." I confirmed and he raised an eyebrow. "So you say?" He said but it sounded more like a question. "Please, sit." I complied and waited for him to start. He eyes me for a while before taking a semi deep breath in. "Right, she has amnesia. Don't worry though, she should remember all her memories in a few weeks, few months tops." He smiled sadly. "If she had permanent amnesia, she'd be mine." He laughed but I knew he was talking serious. "Oh really? I think I'd somehow convince her to love me again. I did it once and I'd sure as hell do it again. I have so much proof and determination you wouldn't even be able to handle it. I suggest you treat her and then leave her alone. If you know what's good for you, that is." I glared at him. He seemed a bit surprised but it didn't discourage me. "Is that a threat?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, biting down a smirk. "What?! Of course not!" I responded sarcastically and stormed out of the room.

Who does he think he is?! Taking my (y/n)? I don't think so. Not on my watch. Over my dead body. Fuck him. I'm gonna have Kate keep a lookout. I can't afford that bastard to use her.

I can't afford to lose her again.
