The Girls From The Future

Chapter 6

McKenzie POV:

I was walking to the Curtis house with Soda, Steve, and Skyler. When we got there I saw Ashley and Brianna talking to two guys. 

"Guys!" I squealed

They ran up and hugged me and Skyler.

"I never thought I would see you again!" Ashley said

We all sat back down and talked about everything. Soda introduced the boys to us, and Steve introduced us to the boys. Everyone chatted with each other and got to know things a little better. The stories of how everyone met were interesting. 

"Now can somebody tell me why I'm here?" Brianna asked

"I don't know." Skyler said

"I hardly remember what happened. Do any of you?" I asked

"Not at all." Ashley said

"Ugh." I groaned

"You girls sure are something." Two-Bit said

"What are we going to do with you all?" Darry asked

"Not sure, Darry," I said

"I can't burden you with all of us, I definitely know you don't have the space, and money, I know that's an issue too." Ashley said

"Sadly that's true. I would help y'all get yourselves together if I could." Darry said

"Don't sweat Darry, we ain't kids." Dally said

He looked at Ponyboy and Brianna. 

"Well most of us. We could take care of these attractive broads, get some of the weight off your chest." Dally said

Everyone looked at Dally, trying to see what he was saying. 

"I'll take Ashley here. Shouldn't be a problem." Dally said

"What about the rest of 'em?" Two-Bit asked

"Well, I think whoever found the broad takes care of the broad." Dally responded

"I don't mind the idea." Brianna added

"Yeah, what about Sodapop and Ponyboy? Soda found Kenzie and Pony found Bri, they are a handful." Skyler said

"They don't look like too much trouble." Darry said

"I'll take Skyler." Steve said

"No Steve, I really don't want to bother you." Skyler replied

"Its no problem." Steve said

"That's really nice of you guys. I'll make sure when I get rich that I'll help you out. Well, as long as I can come back." I promised

"No need to worry about that. Who wants some chocolate cake?" Darry asked

Steve and Skyler practically trampled over us to get to it. Two-Bit shook his head and got a beer. 

"I like it here." Ashley said

"I'm flattered, honey. But you really don't want to live here, at all." Two-Bit said

"That reminds me. Do you remember what's coming up?" Dally asked

Ponyboy sighed and looked up at the ceiling. 

"What is it?" Brianna asked

"It's the rumble," Johnny answered for him, with fear in his voice. 

"You girls are tough, you could probably take a Soc, each of you." Steve bragged

"You brag so much Steve, remember that these girls aren't even seventeen yet." Darry mentioned

"Still. These broads are tough." Steve said

"It's gettin' late. You guys might wanna head home" Darry said

Two-Bit and Johnny left. Dally and Ashley left behind them, and I waved goodbye. Then Skyler and Steve left. 

After they all left Brianna and I started braiding each other's hair. The Curtis brothers were staring at us. 

"What? You guys never seen a girl braid her hair?" I asked

"Yeah, like who hasn't?" Brianna asked 

"Yeah Ponyboy haven't you seen your broad braid her hair before?" Soda joked

"Come on Soda, I barely know this girl, she's just my friend." Ponyboy mumbled

"Oh come on Ponyboy" Soda said

Soda sat down next to me and put his arm around me. 

"Who doesn't want these pretty broads?" Soda asked

I blushed and Brianna laughed at me. I have her a death stare in return.

"Your folks probably miss you guys a lot." Ponyboy mentioned

"Probably." Brianna said
