Chapter 31

Blake's POV

I wake up and see Hailey right next to me. I have my arm around her very protectively. I hate her living with her father. It gives me a bad feeling. We have 1 more week of school until it's over. Then we go to college. I'm planning on going to a military academy but I haven't told Hailey yet. I really don't want to leave her but I have to. I already applied and I got accepted. I sent in the confirmation and they said I start in a month. I snap out of my thoughts when I feel Hailey move. She turns over and opens her eyes to look at me. She smiles then scoots closer to me. I need to tell her about the academy. Here goes nothing...

"Um...Hailey?"

"Hmm?" She says looking up.

"We need to talk. It's really important." I say.

"Sure. What is it?" She says sitting up. I sit up also.

"I was looking for colleges and I really wanted to be in the Army every since I was little. I always kept it a secret from everyone. I applied for military academy. It's in Afghanistan. It's where the regular Army is. I will not be back for I don't know how long. But I will come back to you." I say. I can tell she is very upset.

"I...um...I support at what you wanna do. It's your choice. I love you and I am willing to wait for you when you get back. Just please please please be careful." She says.

"I will. I always will be. I will never leave you. I promise." I say. She comes over to me and hugs me. I push her away a little to look at her face. She has a few tears that escaped her eyes. I kiss her tears and hug her again.

"I'll always come back to you baby girl." I whisper to her. This is my last month here. Last month with her. Last month with her...until I leave.
