Pepper's POV (Saturday)
''Hey Jen!'' I said to my friend on the phone. I was walking down a street after hours of shopping for clothes. I had thousands of bags in the back of my car plus 3 in my hand and it will probably take forever to sort everything out when I get home. I sighed as I waited for reply from my new friend. We only became friends a couple of months ago when she started working in Stark Industries. Shes absolutely wonderful and one of the people I can always turn to.
''Yo Pep, what you up to?'' She replied with one of her silly childish greetings. That's what made her special. The fact that she is usually immature.
''Um just shopping. Listen I have to talk to you about something really important.'' I told her looking around for my car.
''And what can be so important?'' She asked me in a dramatic voice which made me giggle.
''Listen just come over to the coffee shop close to Stark Industries where we always meet up. Don't be late this is important.''
''Wow, sounds serious. Are you okay Pepper?''
''Yeah, talk to you later.'' I replied to her hanging up and getting inside my fancy car, my birthday gift from Tony.I took a sip from my water bottle and started driving up to my house. I drove all the way to our house which was rebuild after that incident with the Mandarin.
As soon as I got there I threw all my bags at the entrance and looked up to see Tony standing near me with a drink in his hand.
''Woah, did you buy a whole shop?'' He asked pretending to be shocked by the amount of bags I had.
''I bought 12 percent of a shop'' I joked smiling and he laughed. I took my jacket and put it on puzzling Tony.
''Where are you going?''
''To meet up with Jen, I decided I should tell her about our decision to adopt. Shes my bestfriend and she needs to know. Especially about something this important. I recon shes younger so she might be a bit better with kids you never know she might help us.'' I winked at him and gave him a hug before leaving the house for the second time today.
When I got there I could see Jen waiting for me. She waved at me really fast and knocked over someones coffee and spilled it on them. Clumsy much?
''Oh my God! I am so so sorry! Let me get you some tissues!'' She apologized and ran to get tissues for the man who was clearly really pissed off but didn't want to be mean.
''Here you go I'm so sorry!'' She apologized again handing him the tissues and the man walked off. She was wearing a red skater dress, a blue jacket and black flats which suited her very nicely. I was on the other hand wearing a pair of skinny jeans. Weird I know, but it was my break and I was sick of skirts and dresses. A lot of people recognized me when I went shopping. Being a superheroes girlfriend is such hard work. I walked up to Jen.
''I saw what happened.'' I giggled.
''Oh yeah sorry about that.''
''Why are you apologizing to me?''
''I don't know, lets just go inside.'' She skipped into the coffee shop and I was surprised she didn't knock over anything else. We ordered some coffee and sat down.
''So whats the important thing that you need to tell me.'' She tried keeping a serious face but failed and burst into laughter. Shes a weird one I tell you.
''Well, since you're my bestfriend, I thought that you should know something really important.'' I told her excitedly and waited for her reaction.
''What?'' She just simply said as if she didn't see how excited I was by it.
''Me and Tony are adopting a kid.'' I told her but this time I didn't need to wait to get a reaction. She spat her coffee out on the floor and everyone turned to her.
''Is that Pepper Potts?''
''What is she doing here?''
''Whos the weird girl?''
People started saying things as soon as they spotted me with her. Jen looked at me saying that we should probably leave. We walked out of the shop as fast as we could and stopped near my car.
''Oh my God!!'' She squeked. ''I'm gonna be an aunty!! Are you getting a baby or a child? A boy or a girl?'' She asked excitedly, and her reaction made me even more excited.
''I think we are going to get a child. Like a bit older. Me and Tony figured it would be best to have an older child because none of us would be good at having a little baby in our house. I haven't decided if I'm getting a boy or a girl yet.''
''OH I AM SO EXCITED!!!!'' She jumped around and got weird looks from people. ''Tell you what, we should throw a party! Can I come with you when you pick a child? Pretty please!'' She begged almost on her knees.
''Okay, but I'll think about the party.'' I gave her the not-gonna-happen look but she didn't really understand it. We drove back home to Tony to pick a day we were gonna do it.
''Hey Tony!!'' Jen barged in through the door first, and I followed. She knocked over one of the plants and Tony looked at the mess on the floor.
''Sorry?'' She apologized to Tony. This wasn't the first time she knocked something over at our house. Its like one thing each visit. Shes always so hyper and happy and just jumps around without thinking much. ''Anyway,'' she continued ''We should book a date on the internet!''
''You can do it on the internet?'' I asked her confused. I never knew that you had to book a date.
''Yeah there's this orphanage near us and you have to book a date. This woman at work ages ago went to adopt in there and said that there's no particular reason for it, they just want to seem formal.'' She finished and me and Tony nodded. I took the laptop and went on their website. My hands were sweaty, I was feeling incredibly nervous. I was going to have a child. I can't imagine me being a mother but I have to, I'm going to be one soon.
''What day is it today?'' I demanded for an answer quickly.
''Saturday.'' Replied Tony who was sitting next to me on the couch looking at the screen.
''Its done.'' I announced to everyone as I booked the date for Monday. ''On Monday we become parents.'' I smiled with tears in my eyes.
