ANGEL'S P.O.V.
I reach home and run towards my backyard to peep through a small hole in the old red brick wall to see whether Cole is there or not. To my disappointment, I see no one there, nor through the kitchen and living room windows.
I sigh. I don't know when I'll get to see him.
Why the hell am I behaving like this? So restless just to see a weird egoistic guy?
I shake my head left to right in a weird way; maybe this could help me stay sane. There's no need to be so curious about him, Angel, I say to myself. I go inside my house, head straight to my room, grab my phone, and call Jessica.
"Hey, Jess," I say in a dull tone
"Heya, my love," Jessica chirps.
"Uh-I-uh need to talk about something," I stammer as I'm sure if I tell Jessica about my persistent thoughts about Cole, she's going to tease me like hell. Still, I have to say it, as I'm slowly going insane.
"Is everything all right, Angel?" Jessica asks, the concern clear in her voice.
"Yes, Jess, I'm totally fine. But it's about Cole."
"Oh-Em-Gee! I knew it Angel. You two are meant to be together. I knew you had an interest in him. I knew it! YAY!" Jessica cuts me off. I can hear her clapping, and I'm sure she must be doing her weird zombie dance now.
"Will you shut up and listen to me?"I fume.
"I don't need to listen to you, bae, as I already know what you are about to say," Jessica chirps. I'm sure she is still dancing.
"Hey now, this is a rhyme. You get it? Bae - say?" Jessica asks.
Oh, God, this girl!
"Yeah, that's a nice one. I should go now. Bye!" I say angrily.
"Oh, so sorry, Angel! Please don't be angry now!" Jessica pleads.
"Hmm," I reply.
"So start talking now. I'm all ears," Jessica says.
"I don't know, Jess. I don't know why I can't stop thinking about Cole. And let me assure you I have no interest whatsoever in him like you think. It's just his behaviour is making me curious about him. And I don't like him at all. In fact, I hate him. And I have a sweet loving boyfriend, too. I don't need anybody else. So please stop teasing and help me out," I say.
"I think you should become his friend so once you get to know him, you will stop feeling curious about him," Jessica advises.
I cannot imagine being his friend, even if he is the last person left on Earth.
"Isn't there any other way? I don't want to be his friend. I told you I hate him," I say.
"Now, he is not that bad, Angel. I know him well. You should just try talking sometime," Jessica says.
"I don't think I'll be doing that. Suggest something else," I say.
"The only other thing you can do is just ignore him. You know, like don't look at him. Avoid him," Jessica says.
"Okay, fine. This is better. Will try this. I need to eat then leave for the foundation classes," I say.
"Okay, love. Take care," Jessica says.
"Bye, take care," I mumble, hanging up before throwing my phone on the bed. My eyes go towards Cole's balcony.
Uh! Not again!
I close the purple velvet curtains and have my lunch. I pack my bag with books for the evening class. My phone screen lights up. It's a message from Alex.
"How about a dinner date tonight?" I read and smile. How could I say no?
"Sure! What time?" I reply.
"Right after your evening class," Alex quickly texts back.
"Okay then! Be there at 8 pm."
" Yup! See ya," Alex replies.
I smile and rush towards my wardrobe, looking for something pretty to wear tonight. But I realize I have my classes so I need to be in casual comfy clothes. So I wear blue jeans and a pretty pink, full sleeved t- shirt. I don't like putting on make up, so I stick to just a black eyeliner and a light pink lip balm.
I look at myself in the huge mirror in my room. I sigh. I look fine, I think. I usually don't think about clothes, but this is my first dinner date ever so I want to look nice. I wear shoes and grab my bag and leave.
Can't wait for tonight!
