Prologue

Amelia's POV

FLASHBACK

It was a warm June night and my boyfriend and I decided to take a walk. We met up with my best friend Cole and went to a party. The drive there was silent. Cole and my boyfriend, Adam absolutely despise each other. When we got to the party, I slammed the door and headed straight for the refreshments. I took a sip out of my red cup and looked around at all the wasted and sweaty bodies near me. The familiar burn of the alcohol soothed my troubles. After I lost count of how many drinks I had, I decided to find Adam and try to get home. As I was nearing the end of the hall, I heard two familiar voices arguing. I put my ear against the wall to listen: " Stay away from her, she's meant for me not you Cole." Adam"s voice slurred a bit at the end but his tone was menacing. "You don't understand do you Adam," Cole questioned trying to defy Adam. "Have you ever heard that best friends are meant to be," Cole paused and looked at Adam only to continue "Listen, what I am trying to say is you came into the picture and ruined what Amelia and I have, we were inseparable,". With that, Adam fled the room but not without bumping into me. I looked into his sky blue orbs that were clouded with tears. Without saying a word, he grabbed Cole and I and shoved us into the pickup truck. We all just sat there for a little bit, avoiding eye contact. I looked at each of them and felt my heart swell with love for both, I would not hesitate to take a bullet for them. The car's rugged engine turned on and Adam slammed the accelerator. The car swerved in and out but I was too tipsy and just thought it was me. "Adam, are you drunk, you're swerving all over the place," Cole practically yelped. Adam replied with a grunt. " Amelia, put your seat belt on," Cole urged. "No, if you and Adam's seatbelts don't work then I'm not using...,". " watch out, Adam," Cole screamed. Cole lunged forward before buckling me in. Adam slammed on the brakes and before I knew it, everything turned black.

3 DAYS LATER

I woke to the sound of beeping and a tremendous headache. I looked around and saw that I was in a hospital room. The past events scrambled through my brain and I lunged up to find Adam and Cole. Then, in came rushing my mother and a nurse. " She's awake, my baby is awake," my mother wailed. "Mom, where's Adam and Cole?" I asked. Her once happy expression turned grim and the next words she said shattered my heart to pieces " Honey, they died in a car crash,"

END OF FLASHBACK

I flinch at the horrible memories that happened months ago. I dragged my suitcase down the stairs to see my mother and father waiting for me. 'This is it ' I thought. New city. New town. New life. New School. No Cole. No Adam.

Hi, this is my first story, I hope u like it. I will try to update very often thx!! I know this isn't he best beginning but trust me there are many twists and turns to come in the next few chapters!!!
