Avengers- The tale of Sigyn

Chapter twenty three

"Can't you not hurt yourself for one day?" Davyn scolds Isabel as he bandages her wrist

"It's not my fault" Isabel grumbles Davyn looks up at her

"What?" He scolds

"Nothing" Isabel murmurs "I'll be more careful" he sighs

"Please do Izzy" Davyn smiles at her

"Davyn when can I go home?" She asks sadly "I miss my brothers"

"Home?" He asks

"Yeah I'm from Midgard" Isabel sighs "Loki told me to stay here until I'm healthy enough to travel through bifrost"

"Oh well you've been fine for a week" Davyn says "you were able to use your powers without a problem right?"

"Yeah"

"If you were unwell that would've been imposible" Davyn smiles at her

"Oh" Isabel says forming a scolding script for Loki "I have to go"

"Take care please" he calls after her "and don't kill Loki!"

"Won't promise anything" she mumbles. As she walks down the hallways she passes the room where they were attacked not even an hour ago and hears voices

"What's going on Thor?" Sif's voice says  "who is Isabel really?" That makes her stop, she creeps closer to the doors and perks her ears

"She's a human from Midgard" Thor says

"A human?" Sif asks incredulous "Thor she's almost an exact copy of Sigyn!"

"I know" Thor whispers

"Is that why Loki...?"

"No" Thor says pacing around the room  "at least I don't think so"

"Does she know?" Sif asks worried

"No" Thor says

"Thor she should know" Sif says softly "what if she isn't human what if she is, Asgardian?"

"That's impossible we've run tests on her blood and DNA nothing came up that did not identify her as midgardian and only that" Thor paces some more

"She should still know" Sif says "Sigyn was my friend and no one knows what happened when she disappeared and Loki, he was devastated"

"I know" Thor says "but it's not my place, Loki should tell her"

"You know he won't" Sif rolls her eyes there's a silence while Thor continues pacing

"We could be mistaken" he says at last "she could have nothing to do with Sigyn"

"Or she could have everything to do with her" Sif says there's a pause long enough that Isabel almost leaves but then Sif talks again

"Are you sure they didn't come for her?" They? Isabel thinks she must mean the aliens who attacked her repeatedly

"I'm certain" Thor says but his tone does not sound certain. That's all Isabel hears before running off to the dungeons. The soldiers don't even try to stop her. They must have orders from someone.

Isabel passes through the barrier that's placed on the cells and grabs one of them by the neck and holds him down to the floor

"Why me?" She asks and squeezes the others steps towards her but a blue dome surrounds them both they step away from it cautiously

"Why?!" Isabel yells

"You're special" he croaks "she is inside of you" Isabel squeezes harder his mouth opens and she puts her other hand over his mouth. Blue smoke slides down his throats slowly burning away his tissue and muscles he screams and squirms underneath her but she doesn't let go. Not until he's stopped moving. Her hands are sticky with blood. The dome displease and she turns to the rest an eerie smile on her lips.

The screams don't stop for hours. Sometimes there are brief moments of silence and then they pick right up. The screams are so bad some fellow cell mates are sick in their cells. Even the guards are disturbed.

Six hours later Eliza is knocking on Loki's door. He opens the door and his smile drops

"What happened?" He asks pulling her inside and grabbing a blanket to drape over her. She makes no movement to grab the blanket, she'll only get it dirty.

"You've been lying to me Loki" Isabel says quietly her eyes on the ground

"No love" he says gently emerging from the bathroom with a wet towel. He starts to clean the blood off her body

"You've lied to me Loki" Isabel repeats

"What are you talking about?" Loki asks worried while cleaning her hands. She grabs his chin and makes him look up at her

"Don't lie to me" her eyes are wrong, aside from the crazed look in them one of them is bright purple while the other remains its natural blue

"Sigyn" Loki whispers

"Who is she?" Isabel asks "and don't lie to me" Loki pauses he stands and looks into her eyes. He sighs

"She was my wife" Loki says "before all the madness happened before I was banished, I was happy. Sigyn was my everything and then she disappeared; her body was never found"

"I found a new body" Isabel says her voice different as well, as smooth as silk

"Sigyn" Loki sighs happily and kisses her "I thought I'd lost you my love"

"I have always been here" Sigyn replies "but you are not being fair to her. Do you love her?" Loki opens and closes his mouth like a fish out of water

"It is alright" Sigyn smiles "but tell her"

"You are in so much trouble Loki of Asgard!" Isabel yells. Her eyes are back to normal "now answer me. Why can't I go home and why didn't you tell me about your wife?!"

"I can explain" Loki says very confused

"You have two minutes" Isabel fumes

"Sigyn disappeared long ago, she left a whole in my life. It pains me to remember her" Loki explains

"But I look like her" Isabel says "is that why you like me?"

"No" Loki says "I love you for you Isabel. Yes you look like her but I love Isabel Black, not a ghost of my wife"

"Alright" she huffs but smiles "I guess I forgive you"

"Thank you my lady" he bows and she laughs

"And why can't I leave?" Isabel asks walking to the bathroom she turns on the shower and takes off her clothes, Loki follows her and doesn't even pretend to avert his gaze from her body

"I'm waiting" she says stepping into the shower

"I uh" Loki says

"I'm sorry" Isabel says "did I distract you?" He scoffs but he's blushing

"If you leave I have to stay" Loki explains the water shuts off and he hands her a towel

"Why?" Isabel asks drying herself off

"I'm an escaped prisoner" Loki chuckles "for my crimes the penalty was my life. Thor negotiated against it. Then he got hurt we left and I knew that if I came back it would mean my death"

"They're going to kill you?!" Isabel shrieks as she's finished putting on her clean dress

"No" Loki assures her and holds her close "we made a deal. I would stay as a prisoner once more"

"Why did you make that deal?" Isabel asks him

"You were hurt" he whispers in her hair "you healed much faster here than on earth, I did it for you"

"You idiot" she says but says it with love

"It's okay" he says "forgive me for being so selfish"

"No" Isabel says "I won't forgive you. You've made a deal that'll kill us both. I won't go back without you"

"You have to" Loki whispers "your family..."

"They'll understand" Isabel says but her heart aches for them

"Now you're lying" he chuckles Isabel holds him tight

"I'll find a way" she mumbles "I won't leave you"
