FOURTEEN

Crystal rushed in "Alex hide!" I instantly panicked as she picked up all my things "What's going on?!" She threw everything into a big black bag. "The mutts and rouges are attacking. They surprised us. We have to take you and Ira to a safe place." I quickly get up from the bed and rush to put on my clothes that Crystal and thrown at me when she walked in.

"Where's Lyle?!" I asked as we ran out into the chaotic halls. "He's with Mason and Paul." She pushed people aside. "Where's my daughter?!" I asked trying not to have a panic attack. "Seantasia has her. Their evacuating the whole house. All the warriors are on the battle field trying to hold them back. They Lycans are trying to kill as many of the leaders as they can."

We went out through the back door. A yellow jeep was waiting with the doors open as Seatasia quickly strapped on Ira. As I got into the jeep Mason ran out. I turned to look at him and ran into his arms "Mason what's going on?!" He kissed me and quickly ran to kiss Ira "it was a surprised attack. Alex you need to leave now. Take Ira with you to the human world." Tears started to build up. All different emotions started to build up. "What about the moon goddess?" I ask "It was a spell." Mason says as he holds on to me " I love you Alex and I will come find you after this is over." His lips touch mine once again. Something feels different. This kiss is lighter and softer more passionate then the one at our bonding.

He runs back inside leaving me with my baby and the girls. I quickly jump into the jeep and put on my seat belt. Crystal takes the back roads and soon after we jump into the human world. I can't look back, I won't. The memories of me and Mason flow through my mind like an endless river. Will he live?

SIX YEARS LATER.

I haven't seen Mason and I haven't heard from him. I've heard stories of his death or of his escape but I haven't heard of his survival. Everyday I walk quietly through the woods by myself hoping to see him. Hope to find something. I sit in my tiny little apartment while Ira plays with her barbies. She doesn't remember him and probably never will but I know that she will be a lot like him.

Crystal walks in to the living room "Are you going to go for your walk?" I smile and nod "Yeah." She nods and sits where I was sitting. I kiss Ira goodbye and being my journey. The sun is out but the air is brisk. I wrap my white coat around me and begin to walk down the street towards the woods.

I decided to take a different route. I know for a fact that Lyle died protecting Kendall and I know Paul was captured and escaped but Mason is a story book of different stories. The trees dance differently in the wind. I cry to myself. I fall to the floor and cry and cry until I feel as if I can't cry anymore. I hear leaves crunch and I instantly stop. I stand up on guard and look around. I see a body resting on a tree a few yards back. I walk silently decided wether or not to change. Once I make it to the tree I see a familiar figure.

I walk up and I almost lose my breath. Mason. He's fast asleep and it seems like he just finished changing back. He was to tired to continue. I yearn to touch him to feel him once again, but I can't find myself able to move. "Mason?" Was all I could say. He groaned and his eyes slowly opened. I bent down in front of him "Mason." Tears swelled up.

He toke a breath and reached out touching my cheek "Alex."
