Latisha POV
“Are you alright, Lati?” Ian asked me, worry clearly shown in his stormy grey eyes.
'You ave to be strong Latisha.'
“As good as I can ever be!” I said, trying to sound as cheerful as I could for Ian’s sake.
I have now realised that how foolish I have been. I have been giving Juan the satisfaction of seeing me hurt. I can’t possibly do this. Especially when he has involved Ian in this. Ian is my life and no one, mind it, no one messes with him. I wouldn’t have said a word if it were about me but now that he is playing this game, I will too. I mean, two can play this game. I will be strong. I will face him.
“I see that you have got up, my love” Juan said entering the room, a devilish smirk plastered on his face.
“Of course, baby” I said. And to say my plan was working was an understatement. Juan was beyond shocked. But he was quick to hide his shocked with a blank look.
Ian grinned mischievously, “I think this is my cue to leave.” He quickly hugged me and left the room, not before giving Juan a stern nod.
Juan started walking towards me. I was internally panicking, but I hid it well. I sat up straighter, held my chin high and smirked. He held my arm tightly and pulled me up. We were standing chest to chest, but I didn’t let my smirk falter.
“What are you trying to do?” he hissed, almost like a snake.
“What?” I asked innocently, as though I have not done anything. But I think that triggered something inside him. His nails dig into my arms, causing the blood to ooze out and me to hiss in pain. I ripped my arm away from his painful grip and pushed him by his chest. He stumbled behind and glared at me.
“It is not my mistake that you wanted to involve Ian In this sick game of yours. And anyways why are you so bothered by me calling you ‘baby’. You were the one who asked me to act all couple-y in front of Ian, right? What is wrong with you Juan? How could you forget my allergies? You knew I have dust allergy, allergy from black pepper and olives. I never knew you could fall down to this extent. Look Juan, Ian is my life. He is the only reason for which I live. You can’t cause harm to him. Never.” I yelled.
“I hate you Latisha. I hate you so much” he said narrowing his eyes at me.
'Ouch, that hurts.'
I winced, my eyes softened and I said, “Why? Why Juan? Why do you hate me? I didn’t betray you, Juan. Did you even ever try to find out the reason? No. you just hated me. Please Juan try to understand. I did all of that for Ian. I didn’t want him to feel alone, like I did, or else I would have happily surrendered. Ian needed me. I didn’t want him to go throw all of that. You know my past Juan, you know it. Then please don’t make this harder for me. I loved you, I love you and I will always love you no matter what Juan. No matter what you do to me, no matter how much you hate me.” I could feel the tears rolling down my cheeks. My eyes burning.
