My Little ray of Sunshine

Chapter 1

Adeline's POV

"Get out of the way you good for nothing bitch!" Yelled my step-father, George.
I look down to my feet and whispered "I'm sorry, it won't happen again". While I scurried off the the kitchen where I was supposed to make dinner. Thankfully George didn't follow me this time. I wandered what was on the menu for tonight Mac and cheese or my wonderful Raman noodles.
Seeing as that was the only thing that was in the cabinet. I decided to make Mac and cheese, I had six other people to feed and it was the quickest to make. You would think man six kids these people are so kind taking in so many children.
Oh how wrong they are if they had to spend one night into this god forsaken house they would run out screaming bloody murder. I turned around when I heard the boiling water on the stove, guess I was distracted daydreaming again.
Add some milk and a little cheese and viola I give you my infamous mac and cheese.
I started to call the children down but then remembered that George and my step mother Sarah didn't like yelling, so I opted for a better solution. As I was walking up the stairs to my step siblings room I heard them talking.
" Ben do you think we'll be okay?" " Sage you're to young to be thinking that, and it's okay Addie will take care of us she always does." "Okay." Thats my time to walk into the room but not before knocking. " guys come on dinners done" all I got was the sound of children bombarding me and asking questions like " what's for dinner" and " please tell me it's pizza."
"Well hopefully Mac and cheese won't disappoint" I said, they all but pushed me out of the way and hurried down stairs like starving lions. I bet you wanna know the children's names. First you got Ben the second oldest, me being first ranking 17, he's 13 and quite a lady's man already. Then you got Sage the drama queen she is 10 along side her twin sister Lavender a really shy girl, though their parents died in a vehicular manslaughter. (Ouch I know) anyways we also have Henry he's 8 and wants to be a fireman when he grows up, he was abandoned when he was 6 left beside a dumpster.
He also has a younger brother Lucifer he's 7 years old and is the sweetest boy you will ever meet. And finally we have Hera she's 7 also but she will certainly tear you head off if she wanted too, she was born in a bar that had a fighting ring and a couple of guys showed her how to fight. Believe me she is stronger than she looks. And last but not least Hunter he is 6 he was thrown out of a car window because his parents were on drugs and wanted to see if he could fly. Now every time there's a car near by he freaks out I don't blame the little guy.
As I walked down the stairs I heard " can I have two bowls please, please, please" looking down at little Hunter I smiled and said sure, since I'm the closest person they've got to a mother figure. When they were all done they started cleaning up their mess, let's just say we had put in a rule if I cook they clean the table and rinse their bowl and leave it in the sink for Ben and I to wash. Then after they go up to the bathroom and get ready for bed because we got the first day of school tomorrow.
It will be hell because I'm the only one that can drop them off as seeing how George and Sarah Ain't gonna do jack squat about it. Because they are sucky step parents and are only in it to get money from the state. I caught myself yawning like usual because I have difficult time sleeping, I bet you wanna no my past well I might tell you a different time.
I was walking up the stairs to bid the children a good night when I heard my step parents banging on the wall from the bed. It didn't take a genius to figure out what they were doing but that was just disgusting, I truly feel sorry for these kids.
Opening the door to their bedroom and I saw thankfully that they were asleep and whispered good night to them. Creeping my way back down the stairs toward my bedroom it was technically a pantry but who am I to say otherwise. I feel like tomorrow will be different.
