Chapter 2

Adam's POV

*BEEP BEEP BEEP* ugh my stupid alarm clock. "Five more minutes." I mumbled on the side of my pillow. "Honey your going to be late for school." My mom yelled. Welp I guess I have to get up, yay first day of senior year, and another day of my parents fussing over me about not having a mate. Yeah you heard right mates not the Australian buddy but my soul mate. When a werewolf turns 16 they are supposed to be able to find their mate, but it's been a year and I still have no mate, it's a big deal because I'm about to be alpha. I'm guessing the moon goddess didn't want me to have a mate.
Well anyways I have to go to school. I look around and spot a few shirts on the floor. Whatever I haven't had enough time to do laundry. Walking down the stairs I stop by my mom to kiss her on the cheek. Yelling "Bye mom" as I was walking out the door to go in my Jeep, its a 2007 Jeep Wrangler with a hemi engine. It was my first car ever, also a birthday gift on my 16 birthday from my parents.
My Jeep was slowly rolling up towards the school parking lot. I look around and tried to find my bests friends Ace and Katrina. Since I'm the soon to be alpha I also have a soon to be beta, Ace, and my soon to be third, Katrina.
I finally got out of my Jeep to walk over their to them. When I started to smell something, it smelled really good. I looked around trying to find where it was coming from and there she was stranded near a wall with her head down low. There was another person in front of her looking angry. It didn't take long to put two and two, that he had intended to hurt her. I had nearly ran over there and when I was behind this douche I wanted to punch him so hard. But I somehow kept my cool and stood there waiting to see this persons face. Tapping him on the shoulder, he had turned around and was about to scream at me but stopped shortly realizing who I was. I started to put on my Sinister smile and he ran away towards the school. At that moment I didn't care because there standing in front of me was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

Adeline's POV

Ugh Monday's they always seem to creep up on me. I gotta get out of bed and wake up the children. With that thought in mind I slowly got out of bed feeling like today was different somehow. I made sure I was dressed and ready before walking up the stairs towards the kids room. I opened the door and saw 6 kids fast asleep, well if they don't wake up their gonna be late for school. Starting with Ben because he's the hardest to wake up I started to shake him and all he did was roll over groaning. This is gonna be one of those days again. Instead of shaking him I dragged him by his feet, and he finally got out of bed. I made sure he was walking towards the bathroom to get ready for school, before I went to wake the rest of them up. They were easier and we ready when Ben sleepily got out of the bathroom. I'm getting their backpacks together when I hear " addie can you tie my shoes" from Lucifer. Looking down at his feet were dirty shoes and messed up knots. It breaks my poor heart that they are treated so little and bad that all I can do is watch and try to protect them. Lucifer had always had a hard time learning I think he might have dyslexia. I though him how to tie his shoes a lot of times but I don't think it's sticking up their. Bending down to tie his shoes when I saw the time we were almost late and since I don't have a car I have to walk. I hurriedly gathered the children and told them that it's time for school. I had to take the children to different schools first I had to drop off Henry, Lucifer, Hera, and Hunter at elementary. Then Ben, Sage, and Lavender go to middle school. And finally me going to high school. We had finally made it out the front door without waking our step parents. I'm walking towards the elementary and saying good bye to the little ones. Since the middle school was closer to the elementary and the high school was the other way I left Ben in charge of making sure they all get there safely. I watched as they started to walk away and headed toward the dreaded high school. I was just thinking what we should have for dinner when Mark threw me into a wall. "Where've you been, Freak" all I did was keep my head down and not say a word though until one of the silent bad boys stood behind him. I was so scared I didn't know what to do. Then he looked at me and I got this tingle feeling and he started to walk away. I don't know what happened but I got distracted from the first bell.
