Amy. I stood instantly, turning my attention to Sam who didn't seem to be fazed by the fact she just turned a living creature to hard cold stone. Sam shrugged her well toned shoulders and began walking towards the snowy hill where Amy stood. Both of the girls looking like sick ice goddesses that ruled over the lands. Something clicked in my brain. Sam must have some wacko power because she was just as beautiful as Amy. I admired the two who stood, staring down at us.
"Nix" Sam begun "We need you"
"To come with us" Amy interjected "I know we got off to a bad start but please" she begged. I was more then willingly to go with them because I felt at home with them, knowing others had powers similar to mine didn't make me afraid that I had to hide it. I looked behind me, back at Simon who stared with jaw dropped and eyes wide open. I put my finger under his chin to push it back up, I turned his head to face me. Our eyes met and he looked petrified.
"I'm going to go with them" I told him as I rubbed my thumb against his cheek
"You're kidding right?" He tilted his head forward seriously
"I'm sorry, but I feel this... Feeling" I couldn't describe it but it was there
"Nix, what about us?" He motioned between us
"What about us?" I questioned and that was my mistake
"Wow, ok." He pushed my hand away and took a step back
"Simon" I called after him but he shook his head.
"I'm fine, I'm just going to uh.. Go back to camp.. Have fun or.. Whatever" he waved me off as he turned and walked away.I felt the weight of ones hand on my shoulder, urging me in the other direction but I refused. "Nix.. Come on.. He's fine" Sam said quietly. I shrugged my shoulders and turned to face them. "Where are we going?" I asked trying to forget that just happened. "You'll see" Sam smiled and patted my shoulder.
We walked for a few hundred miles before arriving at this small hut looking thing. Something about this place felt too familiar. The way the thatch stuck out from the snow covered roof, the small dark smoke escaping the chimney, the wood rotten and old but still stable enough to support such weight and the smell of vanilla filled the cold atmosphere. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. The surrounding areas looked similar too. One tree caught my attention but it looked like every other tree in this icy forest. I focused back into reality and noticed the girls had almost reached the door to the spruce wooden hut.
The warmth engulfed us three as we entered, causing me to take off my fifty layers of clothing. I was left wearing a white dirty tank top and black leggings which were all wet. I immediately sat by the deep orange to yellow flames that flickered from the burning wood, hearing the soothing low crackling of the wood burning was music to my hears. I watched as Amy and Sam both took their layers off and joined me by the fire. Both of them with wide smiles across their faces as they stared at me. I couldn't help but smile which was rare.
"Nix" Amy began
"Amy" I replied
"I'm sorry for being a snotty bitch by judging you so quickly because I was upset with him" she smiled
"It's ok I guess" I awkwardly laughed "if you don't mind me asking but why am I here?"
"Oh right... Well we need to explain everything first before we just blurt it out" Sam said, throwing a sideways glance towards Amy who simply nodded.
"We have abilities which makes us not human" Amy stated
"But we look and technically are humans" Sam added
"Basically we are witches as the civilians used to call our ancestors, but we're not your average everyday witch that the stereotypes say we're-"
"Lamias" I said as the memories came flooding back almost drowning my head.My head began to burn in agony as the memories kept coming back, it was a never ending list of my childhood and what I thought was my childhood was lie, it was fake, it was all one big spell that my carer put on me and I couldn't help but believe their stupid tricks. I slapped my hands to the sides of my head and screamed. Sam came rushing besides me as she unstructured Amy to gather some things from the kitchen.
"Make it stop, make it stop, I want it to end" I shouted repeatedly but nothing happened. Amy returned not to long after that with a small bowl of what looked like home made soup. How in hell is that going to help, did grandma add a little bit of love to save my unbearable pain?
"What do I do?" Amy asked Sam who shrugged
"Feed it to her or something i don't know"
"Nix, calm down. You need to drink this, it will help dude" she handed me the bowl and I chugged it like I've never drunk anything before. I'm glad I did because it tastes like Complete and utter shit. I coughed as it went down my throat, slightly burning me in the process."What is in that?" I choked out as my pain went down slightly
"Don't worry we will tell you when you awake" Sam spoke, gently rubbing my back.
"What do you mean?" I asked, wiping my mouth.
"You need rest, you'll pass out when the medicine kicks in" Amy explained as she led me to this room. The room had all white walls, a bed was placed in the centre of the room resting against the wall, above the bed lay some cute white fairy lights, two dark black bed side tables, one had a photo of me and the girls all smiling but we looked around the age of 9."All will be explained soon Nix" Amy said as she gently pushed me towards my bed.
