Sweet dreams are made of this, Who am I to disagree? I travel the world, And the seven seas, Everybody's looking for something.
Some of them want to use you, Some of them want to get used by you...Some of them want to abuse you, Some of them want to be abused.

The song was repeating over and over in Jake's head, he couldn't get rid of it. It was one of his father's favorite songs. He remembered his father having the Eurythmic's greatest hits album and playing that particular track over and over and over. Whenever they had gone out anywhere in the car he would pop the Eurythmics on the cd player as soon as they got in the car and play them during the journey. The Eurythmics had of course been before Jake's time, but he grew to like them thanks to his father always playing that greatest hits album
Ugh, as much as he loved the song, he really couldn't get it out of his head now and it was beginning to drive him mad

He had the song on his mind because he had woken up from a sweet dream. A dream in which he was free again and happy. He was back with Cindy and life was good again, carefree. Before Mandy and the baby, before the accident, before his life fell apart. Then he woke from the dream and he was back in the basement, back in the darkness, waiting for someone to come. When would they come? When would the darkness end?
Dreams were all he had left, sweet dreams meant so much now. They were his only escape from the darkness. The trouble was that dreams don't last and they aren't real. You wake up from them and all you have is the darkness again and the bleak reality. All he had were sweet dreams and he intended to hang on to them. dreams were always better than real life.
