I hear a 'ding' sound, which I later realize is the elevator coming to a stop at the destined floor, and am shaken from my sweet memories.
I am lightly but insistently shoved out of the elevator and into the hallway beyond. It's dimly lit and quiet, the same plain grey color as everything that I've seen in this complex. I know that it's underground, but still. They really need to get better color choices.
Hey, don't blame me! It's completely true! Just saying!
I turn and glare at the guard who pushed me. He flips on a hidden light switch, brightening up the vast halls, and pretends not to notice. He just twitches slightly, and an uncomfortable silence cloaks us.
"I didn't ask for this this job..." He mutters.
"I didn't either," a louder, more defiant voice says, and I realize that it's coming from me. Our eyes meet for a second, and I see a small flicker of sympathy behind his wide-rimmed glasses.
I take a tiny step back, and our gazes revert, but I don't forget what just happened here.
He ushers me down the now brightly lit hallway, and stops at a door numbered "4562 νες".
Wonder what that means. Oh well.
He opens the mysterious door with a bright bronze key, and I stride in, closing the giant door behind me. It's a large, empty room, but I look all around anyway, double checking everything for traps. You never know.
Once I got attacked by these Capital-created mutant hamsters. It was a nightmare.
But that's a completely different story.
Suddenly, I hear a creaking noise to my left, and I spin around. Three oddly dressed, colorful people walk in, and it's obvious where they're from. The Capital. The place that everyone thinks was my home, but really never was. That evil place never could be, anyway. I had a much better home somewhere else.
An image of District Four briefly passes through my mind. I see my eight-year-old self at the time being taught by Finnick how to throw a trident properly, swimming in the deep blue ocean, and learning how to make different nets to catch fish and other sea creatures with. If only Finnick hadn't left to go back into the games and war two years after I came... He died then, and I promised that I would make him proud ever since. But that's hard to do while keeping a fake identity.
I'm shoved back into the present as one of the colorful Capital women trills, "Hello hello! It's a bigggggggggggggg day!"
My mouth almost drops open in surprise. Guess who it is? Effie Trinket! I saw her occasionally when I was younger, and still living with my family at the Capital. Her hair lacks the usual dyes, but her face is still caked in orange make-up.
"Effie!" I say and smile for probably the first time since I got here.
"Why, hello Crystal, dear! Long time no see!" She squeals.
"What- How- Why are you here? I thought all Capital citizens were d-dead?"
She looks at me sympathetically. "Oh you poor, poor dear. But we'll discuss that soon, won't we?"
"Um, okay?"
"Yep. She's not your prep-team thought. Neither am I. Now that would be a disaster. Gale wanted me too talk to you. Something about you reminding him of someone. He wouldn't tell me who thought."
"Manners, manners!" Effie sings out.
"Oops, sorry. I should probably tell you who I am."
I spin around yet again, and this time my mouth really does fall open in shock when I see the person now standing in front of me.
"Hey," he says, "I'm Peeta. Peeta Mellark."

Do y'all like the update? Well, I hope you do, even thought it's super short. Sorry again.
So, we had a no-school day cause of snow today. I told my friends that it was gonna happen, and now I was like, "Like a boss." Then I randomly started singing "I'm awesome and I know it, know it." To the turn of I'm Sexy and I Know it.
Yeah, yeah. I know, I'm crazy. I get that a lot.
So, I'm really hoping that someone could make a cover for me. If u want to make one for me, could u just post it in the Messages part of my profile page? Thx! You'll get a dedi, be mentioned in the next chappy, and maybe even fanned if I use yours. Thx!
Yours in demigodishness and stuff,
-Spotty
