Just Like Them

"I know that you are Dawn O'Dair, adopted sister of Finnick O'Dair."

I paused, not even trying to deny it anymore, since it was obvious that he knew my secret. "How?" I whispered. If one person knew, everyone could know. Then there would be no escape.

"Lets just say that Finnick talks in his sleep. Lots. Or at least, he... did."

I ignored that last sentence and mentally cursed my self for forgetting about how he was always complained about talking in his sleep. "So, you won't tell, right?" I asked uncertainly, wishing that he would agree. Hopefully no-one else knew who I was. Or at least, who I was at heart; Dawn, a rebellious girl from District 4. End of story.

I had bleached my hair so that it was the same color as before, although the roots were still caramel, they were still much lighter. I had also spent a fair amount of time inside, trying to get my tan to vanish, or at least fade some.

Finally, when I looked more like my old self, before District 4, I turned myself in; as Crystal Snow, granddaughter of President Snow.

If I had waited much longer, they probably would of taken a blond, blue-eyed, innocent district citizen, thinking that it was me, and put them in the games.

I couldn't let that happen to anyone. I just couldn't.

"It depends," he said.

I immediately scowled, glaring at him. "You better not tell, Mellark."

He looked deep in thought. "Gale was right. You're just like her. Different. Rebellious. Changed."

"Her?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me. I scowled yet again as I realized that I had let my pesky Capital accent slip in. By Peeta's amused face, I guess that he noticed too.

"Yes, her. Don't you know? I'm sure you've been told before."

I had a sinking feeling where this was going, but refused to listen to it. Sure, she was my role-model, but still. It got slightly annoying when everyone you knew compared you to another person, no matter how great that other persona was. I wanted them to see me as me, not as somebody that I had never even met.

"Oh, really?" I asked, trying to sound indifferent, and as if this was new to me. I visibly winced. My acting really needed some work. Sure, I could mask my emotions well, but I did not like lying to people, no matter who.

"Yeah. Actually, you're just like two people."

Ooh, this'll be interesting. Never got compared to two people before. Goody. Note the sarcasm.

"Who?" I asked, actually wanting to know for once this time.

"Why, Katniss Everdeen and Finnick O'Dair."

To say I was shocked would of been a complete understatement.

First one; been there, done that. Second one; BAM! Not so much.

Peeta finally broke the silence.

"You know, I think that this will be a very interesting New Games."

And I must say that I completely agreed with him on that.
