A short corkscrew tale of how one person entering a contest could change the lives of three friends. One eventful weekend may just pave the road for a journey they never thought possible. The first installment of a four story series.
Cathy woke up at almost seven, to find Lidia already up, dressed and her face done up. Not to mention breakfast ready in the kitchen. "Dag, girl. Making a sista want to move in and mess." she laughed before waking up Jen. They started to get ready then joined Lidia at the kitchen table. She was insisting they eat well before getting on the road. "Stop moming me!" Jen yelled playfully. "Pee before we leave, bitch." Lidia shot back nonchalantly while eating a piece of bacon. Cathy was laughing so hard, "She got you, Jen."
They were supposed to check in at the hotel around noon and they still had about another five and a half hours to go. Soon after breakfast, Lidia was locking her front door and they were climbing into the truck. Cathy was allowing Lidia to drive her shiney baby. After all the driving she had done yesterday, she was ready to hand over them keys. They were dancing in the truck and living it up. Lidia asked, "Cathy do you know who else will be there besides ours? Like other than TWD and SOA?"
Cathy shook her head, "I just know that there will be a lot of The Walking Dead cast, plus Sons of Anarchy cast too. The woman that called from Walker Stalker didn't mention much else." Jen was all giddy, dancing in her seat. "I'm so excited. Thank you Cathy for inviting us along with you." Lidia chimed back up sincerely, "Yeah, girl. We're honored you chose us." Cathy giggled in reply, "No problem, girls. I wanted my best friends along. People I know I will have an awesome time with." Little did they know the awesome time they were about to get into.
Three and half hours or so into the trip Jen sat up in the back seat. "Are we there yet?" she mimicked a child. "I have to pee...and I'm hungry." She whines jokingly at first and then gets serious, "So, uh, we gonna stop for lunch before we get into Atlanta?" Lidia looks over at Cathy. "We've only got a couple hours left, we can get something when we get there right?" Cathy suggests. Lidia looks back at Jen in the rearview mirror. "Okay, I'm cool with that."

Lidia pulls up to the Omni Hotel in Atlanta. A bellman rushes up to the passenger side and pulling both doors open for Cathy and Jen, "Welcome to Omni - Atlanta, ladies." Lidia was pulling their bags out the back, the bellman stops her, "Please, ma'am, allow me. Part of the Omni service." She smiles and takes a step back, allowing the man to do his job. While he was getting the bags out and loaded onto a bag cart, he said, "Follow me, ladies. I'll show y'all to the front desk. The valet will take the key, here at Omni we're all about our guests' peace of mind." Lidia looked to Cathy who nodded, as she handed the valet the key he handed her a parking chip. Cathy called out, "Don't scratch my baby, please." The parking chip was square, rounded edges, Omni logo on one side and a number on the back. She shoved it into her back pocket, as she jogged to catch up to her girls and the bellman.
Lidia caught up in time to hear Jen's voice, "What are we? Dean Winchester with the '67 Impala now?" Jen shoved Cathy playfully as she nearly tripped laughing at herself so hard. Lidia chimed in from behind them, "Yes, yes we are. I'm Dean, you're Sam and Cathy is running around calling everyone 'assbutt'." Cathy spun around, "The name's Castiel, now don't you forget it." Then promptly spun back around. It was just too funny.
