How long has it been since I last saw you?
I think maybe it's a year or two.
How long has it been since I first said 'Hi'?
How long has it been since our last goodbye?
Your smile in my mind still as fresh as mint
An awesome combination of a rainbow tint
A portrait no ordinary painter can paint
In an exotic canvas no one could ever faint.
Exquisite, appealing is that curve in your mouth
Nothing I've seen alike from the north side to south
The smile that made my world go round
Is the smile only in you I found.
Yet there's something I often grieve about
Something I just can't cry out loud
That smile you once allowed me to see
Was never really made and meant for me.
Well, by now I could say it's quite alright
You wouldn't deserve it if I ever did fight
I was not created for you to be cherished and loved
Because I was willed to be free as a dove.
I didn't gave up anything and I'm glad
I saved my heart from falling hard and bad
Now patiently, wishfully in time
Someone will come whom I'll call mine.
How long has it been since I last saw you?
If ever our paths cross, i won't care though
How long has it been since you last heard me say 'Hi'?
Don't bother, all that'll last is our 'Goodbye'.
