You could hear the police sirens railing down the streets. In a community filled with wealthy people, it didn't surprise me that the police responded so quickly to a panicked phone call. With my arms awkwardly crossed, I glanced over at Samantha who stood at the door waiting for them with her arms crossed across her chest.

"I'm gonna go talk to Penelope, baby doll," whispered Dane before he crossed the room. My attention was on Samatha, whose back was to me as she patiently waited. I'm sure Dane was right though; she must've misplaced it and was just looking for someone to blame. But I couldn't help but wonder... what was going to happen if they didn't find it?

I yelped when I felt someone grab my forearm, taking me away from my thoughts. Spinning around, I saw Teana looking at me with a mischievous smile on her lips. Without words, she pulled me aside.

"So, you and the bad boy, huh?" she smirked.

"It's not like that..." I said but I could feel my cheeks warming.

"It's exactly like that," her smirk widened, "I've seen the way he's been looking at you all night. I was praying that he'd spin the bottle on you so you'd have some time alone. Now tell me what happened in there,"

"But -"

"No buts!" she exclaimed, "what happened between you two? Did you guys kiss? How was it? Is he a good kisser?" she questioned left, right and center then she squealed in excitement, which was so typical for her.

Despite the blush that found my cheeks, I responded, "We have more important issues at stake here..."

My eyes glanced over at Dane, watching as he spoke with Brent and Penelope, completely ignoring my deranged cousin. She was completely insane, I knew that for a fact.

I could tell that Penelope and Brent were trying to console him, telling him that he had nothing to worry about because it was just impossible for him to have the necklace. Which it was. Samantha was just angry. That's what I had to keep telling myself to keep myself in check.

Glancing over to the door, a gasp escaped my lips when I noticed there were two police officers already talking to her. When did they get here? Had I been so distracted by Teana that I hadn't heard the door open?

"And you are positive that Daniel Cayne is the one who did this?" the policewoman asked with a notepad in hand. Her light brown hair had been pulled up into a messy ponytail, with just a few strands hanging down in her face. She looked young too, probably around twenty - three.

"Yes!" Samantha shouted before bursting out into tears, "aren't you listening to a word I'm saying?!"

The policeman beside his partner never looked more uncomfortable. My guess is that he didn't like it when girls cried.
