Sam's POV
I was waiting in my car infront of the mall. The summer rain was ticking quietly on the windows as I looked on my phone to see the time. 8:03 p.m. That was when someone opened the door to the passengerseat. A boy my age in a black hoodie joined me; it was Jack Johnson.
"Don't get my car all wet, bro!" I told him the second he got in.
"I'm not your bro."
"Change your attitude, I am after all the one who's picking you up here."
"Trust me, you weren't my first choice."
"Wasn't your boyfriend available?" He turned to me with that look he always gave me. The I-Want-You-To-Shut-Up-Forever look. "What? Allison told me about you two. His name was Charles right?"
"Charlie," He corrected me. "and no he's not my boyfriend. We just met this week."
"I see. So no romantic feelings?" No answer. "How cute, little Jack Johnson is finally moving on from—"
"If I didn't need you tonight, I'd leave right now." He sighed out of frustration. "And I also don't want to walk through the rain."
"You don't like to get wet?"
He gave me the look from earlier again. "What have I gotten myself into?"
I chuckled. I honestly loved seeing him all frustrated by the things I say. "Anyways, what's the thing you need me for tonight exactly?"
"It's about Allison and Matt." And now it was about to get interesting. "Matt wants to talk to her, I personally don't think it's a good idea but he manipulated me into helping him. So I invited Allison over tonight to my house and she'll be there in fourty minutes. Matt will also be there so they can finally have the talk."
I had to admit; all the things Allison told me about Matt this summer did change the way I look at him now. Matt never was a bad guy to me and we did have some fun moments together but it was weird being around him now.
"That's a horrible idea, Allison will get so angry."
"That's what I said." Johnson sighed. "That's why you're here. Allison has a weakness for you and I'm pretty sure she won't get too angry if you're there. Maybe you can even talk her into it."
"So I have to help her ex-boyfriend to talk to her?"
"Yes."
I thought about the whole idea again. Allison did need to talk with Matt because there's unfinished buisness between them which she also wants to solve, that was what she told me, but the only thing that kept her away from talking to him was her pride. But this whole idea was forcing Allison doing something she clearly wasn't ready for. Johnson had no other choice then go through with Matt's ridiculous idea but I did. "No. I won't do it." Johnson let out a groan but didn't try to convince to help them out and he didn't ask me why not. Most possibly because he didn't want to do it either. "You still got thirty minutes. What do you want to do?"
"Sit here in silence."
"That doesn't sound fun, does it?"
"What could we possibly do in a car?!" I had some ideas that shouldn't be spoken outloud so I smirked at him. "Forget I asked."
"Chill, I was kidding. What about we just ask each other some questions?"
He sighed again. "Fine, if that makes you genuinely happy go ahead."
"Great! Why do you hate me?"
Johnson turned to me with a disgusting expression on his face. "You know what you did."
