Jacklyne's POV

I decided not to follow Mike. I had to be that trusting girlfriend, and being a stalker never got you points.

"Where did Mike go?" My mom asked when I came out of the bedroom. She was sitting in the living room, watching cooking shows.

"He went to go do some work in the studio. We can go out to breakfast if you want," I said, collapsing on the couch beside her.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong," I said a little too quickly.

"I'm your mother, I know when there's something wrong. Are you okay, hun? Are you pregnant?"

"No, no. I just... I'm just thinking that Mike might be cheating on me. It's stupid," I explained.

"Well, he is in a band. You know, when I told you that all boys in bands were man sluts, I wasn't kidding," my mom said, rubbing my back.

"That's really reassuring, mom."

"I'm always here to help."

After my mom and I went out for breakfast, we got home around one. I sat on the couch, impatiently waiting for Mike to come back.

I was nervously twiddling my thumbs when the front door finally opened and Mike walked in.

"Well, I'm going for a walk by myself. Be back in an hour," my mom said, quickly escaping out the door.

Mike chuckled as he closed the door behind her. "What's up with her?" He asked, sitting beside me.

"I think she wants us to have some alone time," I said, leaning my head on his chest. I loved his warmth, his smell, everything. I don't know what I would do if he left me.

"I don't mind a little alone time," Mike whispered, putting his arms around me as he kissed the top of my head.

"I've been thinking of getting into modelling," I lied. I had come up with a plan in case my mom was right.

"Have you?"

I nodded. "Front magazine has a few openings, so I figured that I might as well try it out, right?"

"You know I'll support you no matter what, but what about being Of Mice's merch girl?" Now I was getting somewhere.

"I can work two jobs, it's fine," I said with a shrug.

"Well, if you really want to do this... I know someone who works there who can give you some pointers."

I tried not to grit my teeth together in anger... or jealousy. "Oh yeah, who?" I knew he was going to say Alysha, I just hoped that he wouldn't.

"Her name is Alysha. We're friends through some photographer, it's a long story. Anyways, I could get her to come over or something if you want," Mike explained.

I nodded. "Yeah, that's a great idea. Thank you, Mikey," I said, giving him a passionate kiss. I figured, if I gave Mike everything he wanted, he wouldn't have to be with someone else.

Mike is pretty easy to please. Just give him beer and sex, maybe order some pizza every once in a while.

He hummed pleasantly as he kissed me back, his tongue fighting for dominance with mine.

"Mike, shirt!" I yelled, throwing him one of his tank tops. We just frickle frackled and my mom was going to be back any second.

He laughed. He was finished getting dressed and he was watching me hop around the room in attempt to put my jeans on.

"Don't laugh at me," I said, doing up the button and running my fingers through my wavy hair. "How bad is the sex hair?" I asked.

"Better put on a beanie," Mike said, throwing me a beanie before walking out into the living room. I heard the front door open.

"Where's Jacklyne?" My mom asked.

"She's just uh... in the washroom. She'll be out soon," Mike said as a quick excuse.

"Then I'm sure you wouldn't mind if I asked you a few questions?" Shit, shit, shit.

I quickly put the beanie on and looked in the mirror to discover that I looked like a raccoon.

"Are you cheating on my daughter?" My mom asked. Goddammit.

"Of course not," Mike said, quickly.

"Are you only going out with her for sex? Because she means a lot to a lot of people and I will hurt you."

"I love Jacklyne more than anything," Mike answered, sounding very truthful.

I was too busy listening to their conversation, my de-raccoon situation wasn't going so well.

"And finally, why the hell haven't you proposed to her? Her best friend is engaged, why the hell aren't you? I want grandchildren soon," my mom teased.

Mike and I had never really talked about marriage. It was never really a part of conversation, neither of us wanted to bring it up.

"To be honest, there's no one else I love more than your daughter. But I'm not ready for marriage yet. I don't want to make her miss me more when I'm away on tour."

"Good answer."

"Alysha will be here soon," Mike said, giving me a kiss. Before he could pull away, I put a hand on his cheek on deepened the kiss.

He moved my hand, looking at me with an odd expression. "What's into you lately? You're very... kissable."

I chuckled. "I don't know, I just missed you when I was away," I answered.

"Ok... well, I like it," he smirked, giving me another kiss before going into the kitchen. My mom was out doing some shopping with Mike's credit card.

There was a knock on the door and I turned my head, seeing Mike open it. He greeted the beautiful girl and then she turned to me.

"She's perfect," she beamed, coming over to me. "Hi, I'm Alysha," she said with a smile.

"Jacklyne," I said, standing up and giving her a friendly hug. She was even more gorgeous in person. I hated my life.

"You literally have the perfect body. You're a little short, but the camera can do magical things," she explained with an excited smile. "We can practice a few techniques and I'm positive that you'll get the job."

I couldn't help but smile. She was so nice.

"I'll leave you two alone," Mike said, grabbing his keys and walking out the door.

As soon as Mike was gone, Alysha scoffed. "Something about you rubs me the wrong way. You seem very... high maintenance."

"I'm sorry?" I asked, suddenly getting really confused.

"Let's just get this over with."
