Jacklyne's POV
The half of the bed that Mike was supposed to be in was empty, and I felt horrible. I shouldn't have agreed to go out with Alan, but I was lonely.
I tried to prepare myself for what I was going to tell Mike when I left our room, but nothing was coming to mind. I didn't know what I was supposed to do anymore.
I finally got out of bed and wrapped my housecoat around me. I walked out of the room and saw Mike on his phone.
We didn't say anything to each other as I went into the kitchen and started making coffee.
What was I supposed to do now? He's not talking to me, how am I supposed to talk to him?
"We need to talk," Mike said, coming into the kitchen and leaning on the table.
"Talk away," I muttered.
"Don't act like this problem isn't on you too, Jacklyne," Mike shot, his voice as cold as ever.
"I know this is on me, but you're the one who decided to overreact over the smallest thing. Alan is my friend and nothing more, you know that," I explained, not seeing the big deal.
"I just don't understand how you can go out with a guy who hurt you multiple times! And you didn't even tell me you were going so you could possibly see how I felt abou-"
"How you felt about it? Mike, just because we're getting married, it doesn't mean that you can control my life. I don't control yours."
He chuckled, venom practically seethed from his expression. "Actually, you do control my life. If I'm away, you immediately have to stalk all of my social networks to see if I'm cheating on you. You're so fucking insecure," he fought, knowing he was pushing my buttons.
I turned off the coffee maker and glared at him. "You're a fucking asshole, why would I ever think of marrying something like you?"
"You know you don't mean that, you just can't think of a good comeback," he said, following me into the bedroom.
"You're so childish," I muttered, taking my suitcase out of the closet.
"Where are you going? Just running away from your problems again, like you always do."
"Yes, because I have nothing else to say to you. You're a fucking prick and I think we need a serious break." I began stuffing random articles of clothing into my bag.
When I was done quickly stuffing things in my bag, I turned around to see Mike standing uncomfortably close to me.
"Goodbye Mike," I muttered, grabbing my bag. I went to walk past him but he grabbed my arm and suddenly pressed his lips against mine.
I pulled away, staring at him with pain written all over me. "You can't fix everything with a kiss, Mike."

"I'm sorry, I'm probably bothering you," I said, wiping the tears out of my eyes. Then I started bawling again, falling into Tino's warm chest.
"Shouldn't you talk to him?" Tino asked, rubbing my back. This was the only place I could go. Austin needed to patch things up with Lydia and I couldn't see any members of Pierce, Alan would make things worse, so Tino was the best option.
"I can't talk to him, but I don't know what to do anymore. He makes everything so difficult," I cried, getting his shirt all wet.
"Want some more ice cream?" I had already made Tino get me two cartons of Ben And Jerry's and I had already finished both of them.
I shook my head, sitting up straight and wiping my eyes. "I need to do something."
"We can watch Star Wars."
I shook my head. "I think I need to get out of the house."
"Well, it has been fourteen hours and you haven't stopped crying the entire time," Tino pointed out.
"I need to show Mike that I can be strong without him," I said, nodding. "I should shower and call Front magazine."
"Do you really think that's a good idea?" Tino asked, frowning a bit.
"Yes, it's a great idea. Mike will get jealous and he'll want me back, right? But I'll forget about him and be successful."
"Maybe you should start by taking your engagement ring off."
I stared down at my finger, seeing the beautiful ring still there. It fit perfectly on my finger. I began to pull it off, and then I put it on the table.
"Good. Now, do whatever you think is going to make you happy. Don't try to impress him, be your own person."
"I need the phone number for Front magazine."
